Preview Foundation Stone #3: Saving Faith

1. Jesus came to earth to bring us the Good News.

2. By faith, we believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins.

3. By faith, Abraham was made righteous before God.

4. That is why Abraham is called the Father of Our Faith.

5. Doubt is the opposite of faith, and is the normal condition.

6. There are many things that we believe but can’t see.

7. It’s good to believe in spiritual things that can’t be seen.

8. Believing in Jesus means trusting Him and what He says.

9. It’s by believing in Jesus that we are set free from sin.

10. If you believe in God, then believe in Jesus: They are One.

11. To put faith in Jesus: Hear the facts; Believe them; Say so.

12. The Bible contains the words of Jesus. Study it, and believe.

A4: Christians and Jews call Abraham the "Father of our faith" because he is the one who first believed what God told him strong enough to produce children of faith.

A5: Doubt. If nobody lied, we could believe everything, but there are liars in this world, and they also have a father. We doubt. It's normal. But who wants to be normal? I want to live forever and be filled with the power of God. Doubting keeps us in the natural world. That does not please God.

This is the message of faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For a person believes with his heart and is justified, and a person declares with his mouth and is saved.

For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be ashamed.”
