Leopard Tours FoundationLeopard Tours has always been aware of the need of sharing the benefits realized from our tour operations with the Tanzania community which we are part of. Over the years, more than 30 years today, we have tried to quietly support the local community in our own small way, with no intention whatsoever for publicity.

Our support is directed towards healthcare, education, drinking water, food relief and the environment. The focus has been to support the disadvantaged and those in need, through charitable organisations or by directly assisting individuals and groups.

To enable us coordinate our philanthropic commitments, the company launched Leopard Tours Foundation in July 2015, taking over from Leopard Tours and building on what has been achieved in our past community projects.

The Foundation is an independent trustee run by a committee of 4 dedicated persons, all working with Leopard Tours:

HealthcareLeopard Tours Foundation is in the mailing list of charity organisations and health centres in the country and overseas, since we are involved in supporting individuals who seek and need medical attention both overseas and locally but have no means to pay for it. We have helped a number of our local people, particularly those with heart ailments to undergo treatment at Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and assist other cases to travel to India for surgery, paying for all their travel and medical expenses.

We have arrangements with medical centres to forward bills to the Foundation for those who are unable to pay for the medical services. This is an arrangement which makes possible for the needy to be able to access medical services.

EducationThe Foundation is supporting orphanages and individual orphans to attain decent education in Tanzania and be self reliant. The support is also extended to underprivileged boys and girls whom we are paying for their education from primary school through to the university level. For those who do not qualify for higher education we take them to vocational training centres to learn skills.

The Foundation is helping in building schools, equipping learning laboratories and providing desks in Tanzania.

Water SupplyThe Foundation has since embarked on and implemented several projects including drilling boreholes in Malindi, Kilwa and Kigoma for drinking water and laying water pipes in Arusha town.Our future project is drilling a borehole at St Joseph’s / Heaven School campus in Kiserian, Arusha .

EnvironmentLeopard Foundation is dedicated to tree planting within Arusha town and we have been awarded a certificate of recognition by the Municipality. We are doing this to beautify the town and as our contribution in keeping the world green.
