Fostering Resilience: Retreat Overview

The daily schedule during the retreat is divided into a morning and afternoon session. There is a 2 hour lunch break each day to allow you to enjoy a leisurely and delicious vegetarian meal prepared by the Hollyhock staff, followed by time to relax at the beach or stroll through the garden or many trails on the property. There are also no scheduled activities after dinner to give you ample time to enjoy the hot tub, immerse yourself in nature, or simply rest and unwind with a good book.

MORNING & AFTERNOON SESSIONS

You begin each day with an optional early morning meditation and yoga class, followed by breakfast. We gather at 9:30 for an instructor-led meditation session designed to help you develop your mindfulness skills. Practice support will be available for both beginner as well as more experienced meditators.

The morning meditation is followed by a combination of group discussion and practical exercises for applying mindfulness in daily life and using a combination of mindfulness principles and CBT to build resilience to stress, caregiver fatigue and burnout. There will also be opportunities for small group Q&A focusing on personal meditation practice technique. We finish each day at 5:30 to allow time for some self-care activities before dinner at 6:30.
