Innovation is a broadly used term, and generally refers to the creation of better or more effective products, processes, technologies, or ideas that are accepted by markets, governments, and society.

The climbing tree apparatus designed by Appachan, a humble farmer from Kerala is helping bridge a generations old social divide. As young men migrate to Gulf in droves,there are barely enough men left in Kerela to pick coconuts. By making it safer and easier to pick coconuts, this humble device is today providing employment for women in this male dominated occupation.
