The scope of work includes provision/procurement of gas turbine-driven low pressure compressors plus auxiliary equipment, including inlet gas scrubbing equipment and discharge air coolers, a new substation, including high voltage switchgear and transformers, modifications to an existing substation, and control system to accommodate the new facilities.

The project aims to address crude feedstock flexibility requirements and to increase diesel production, including the production of ultra-low sulfur diesel. The upgrade is expected to include the installation of a new vacuum distillation unit, together with new diesel hydrotreaters.

The pilot plant will be constructed in China and is planned to go on-stream during 2013.

1Q2013 E&C FEED 1Q2014 Refining MOSCOW, RUSSIA: A subsidiary of the Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by OJSC Gazpromneft Moscow Refinery to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) and design documentation in accordance with Russian norms, for a major investment, termed the Combined Oil Refinery Unit (CORU) Project. Foster Wheeler was previously awarded the process design package for the facilities’ crude and vacuum distillation units and the gas plant.

The two steam generators will be designed to generate a total of 300 tons per hour of reliable, high-pressure superheated steam which will be fed to the plant’s process steam system.

Refining UNITED KINGDOM: A subsidiary of the Global Engineering and Construction Group has signed an evergreen agreement with Valero Energy Ltd. (Valero) for the provision of home office front-end engineering and project support services to Valero’s Pembroke Refinery and other facilities in the UK. Foster Wheeler will provide other support services including project control and cost estimating.

Foster Wheeler will design and supply the 105 MWe (gross megawatt electric) CFB steam generator and auxiliary equipment for the boiler island, including a Foster Wheeler baghouse for flue gas cleaning.

2-28-13 1Q2013 Power Design and Supply 2015 Power SOUTHERN MINDANAO, PHILIPPINES: A subsidiary of its Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by Daelim Industries Co., Ltd. for the design and supply of one circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator for the SM200 Phase 1 Coal Fired Power Station for Sarangani Energy Corporation, a joint venture between Alsons Consolidated Resources, Inc. and Toyota Group. Foster Wheeler will design and supply the 100 MWe (net megawatt electric) CFB steam generator plus auxiliary equipment for the project.

2-21-13 1Q2013 E&C Study Oil & Gas UNITED KINGDOM: The Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a study contract by the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI). The five month study will assess the economics of flexible power generation systems which involve the production of hydrogen from coal, biomass or natural gas, the intermediate storage of hydrogen (for example in underground salt caverns) and the production of power in flexible turbines. Foster Wheeler will execute the study in collaboration with the British Geological Survey.

Refining ASIA: The Global Engineering and Construction Group has signed a global Enterprise Framework Agreement (EFA) with Shell Global Solutions International B.V. (“Shell”). Shell may request Foster Wheeler to provide support in the preparation of basic engineering packages for the following Shell Technologies: distillation, hydrocracking, hydrotreating, thermal conversion, ethylene oxide, pyrolysis gas, fluid catalytic cracking and CANSOLV sulfur dioxide scrubbing.

KNPC’S Clean Fuels Project is a major upgrade and expansion of the Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah Refineries to increase the combined throughput by 264,000 barrels per stream day to 800,000 barrels per stream day.

11-15-12 4Q2012 E&C FEED Oil & Gas ALBERTA, CANADA: A subsidiary of the Global Engineering and Construction Group (Foster Wheeler Canada Ltd.) and Three Streams Engineering Ltd. have been awarded the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the proposed Cenovus Energy Inc. Telephone Lake SAGD (steam-assisted gravity drainage) central processing facility phase A development. The project is expected to have an initial production capacity of 90,000 barrels per day (bbls/d) over two phases and an estimated project life of up to 40 years.

Chemicals INDIA: The E&C Group has been awarded a contract by Reliance Industries Limited for the provision of engineering and procurement services for its Paraxylene Project at the Jamnagar, Gujarat State, on the west coast of India. This project is part of Reliance’s multi-billion-dollar expansion project at its world-scale Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex.

Power SOUTH KOREA: The Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by BHI Co., Ltd. for design collaboration on two supercritical pulverized coal (PC) fired steam generators for the Buk-Pyeong Power Plant project for STX Electric Power Co., Ltd. BHI, which is Foster Wheeler’s licensee for utility PC technology in the region, will supply two 595 MWe (gross megawatt electric) supercritical PC steam generators and other major equipment for the project, which is located in the province of Gangwon-do, South Korea.

2Q2013 Oil & Gas CHINA: The E&C Group has been awarded a contract by The World Bank Group to provide consulting services in the field of carbon capture and transportation in China. The World Bank has launched an analytical and advisory assistance program in China in order to build the country’s understanding of, and capacity for, application of carbon capture and storage (CCS). The main objective for Foster Wheeler under its contract is to strengthen the CCS and transportation know-how of the China Power Investment Corporation (CPI), one of the largest power producers in China, and of relevant government institutions.

The packaging center will be part of a world-scale, fully integrated chemicals complex that is being built by Sadara, a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and the Dow Chemical Company (Dow).

10-12-12 3Q2012 E&C EPCm 2014 Chemicals JURONG ISLAND, SINGAPORE: A subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract by LANXESS Butyl Pte. Ltd. for a new neodymium polybutadiene (ND-PBR) rubber plant. This award follows Foster Wheeler’s successful completion of the front-end engineering design for this project earlier in 2012. The new facility, which LANXESS states is expected to be the largest of its kind in the world, will be designed to produce 140,000 tonnes per annum of Nd-PBR and will include process and finishing buildings, a central control room, a substation and a tank farm.

10-1-12 3Q2012 Power Design 1Q2015 Power YEOSU, KOREA: A subsidiary of the Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd. for cooperation in the design of a circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator for the Yeosu Thermal Power Plant 1 Project for Korea South East Power Co., Ltd. (KOSEP). Foster Wheeler will provide the design review of the 350 MWe (gross megawatt electric) CFB steam generator for Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd., Foster Wheeler’s licensee for Utility CFB technology in the region.

9-24-12 2Q2012 GPG Design and Supply Mid-2013 Power VERACRUZ, NEW MEXICO: A subsidiary of its Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by SCS Proyectos, S.A.P.I. de C.V. for the design and supply of two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) to be installed in a cogeneration power plant for TEREFTALATOS MEXICANOS S.A. TOP 1002 Cogeneration Project in Cosoleacaque. Foster Wheeler will design, supply and provide advisory services for erection and start-up of the two HRSG’S, which will be coupled to two LM 6000PF combustion turbines.

The project involves the construction of a facility which is expected to produce 625,000 tonnes of potash per year. As part of this project, Foster Wheeler will coordinate with ERCOSPLAN Ingenieurgesellschaft Geotechnik und Bergbau mbH (“ERCOSPLAN”) of Erfurt Germany which will provide engineering, cavern development, mine plan, and commissioning for the solution mining of the project (under direct contract to the client).

Refining BARINAS, VENEZUELA: A subsidiary of the Global Engineering and Construction Group, in consortium with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (HDEC), of South Korea has been awarded a contract by Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) for Phase I (Hydroskimming section) of the new Batalla Santa Ines Refinery. Foster Wheeler’s scope of work includes early detailed engineering design and delivery of an open book estimate for the crude distillation unit, storage and blending unit and fuel distribution plant.

9-11-12 2Q2012 E&C Engineering, procurement assistance and construction management

2014 Refining VLISSINGEN, THE NETHERLANDS: A subsidiary of the Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by Zeeland Refinery, N.V., a joint venture between Total and LUKOIL, for engineering, procurement assistance and construction management assistance for the upgrade of the distillate hydrocracker at the Zeeland Refinery. The objective of the project is to maximize the throughput of the distillate hydrocracker by debottlenecking the unit’s reaction and fractionation sections of the distillate hydrocracker.

4Q2013 Refining BASHKORTOSTAN, RUSSIA:A subsidiary of the Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by JSC Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, for the engineering and material supply of a new double-cell Terrace WallTM steam reformer heater and air preheating system to be built at the Salavat Refinery.

9-5-12 3Q2012 E&C BEP Chemicals RAS LAFFAN, QATAR: A subsidiary of the Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by Shell Global Solutions B.V. to develop a basic engineering package (BEP) for a world-scale mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) facility. The MEG facility will be part of a new petrochemicals complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City, being developed by a joint venture of Qatar Petroleum and Shell.

9-4-12 3Q2012 Power Design and Supply 1Q2015 Power YEOSU CITY, SOUTH KOREA: A subsidiary of the Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by Yeosu Cogeneration Corporation, a subsidiary of Hanwha Corporation, for the design and supply of one circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator located in an industrial complex in Yeosu City, South Korea. Foster Wheeler will design and supply the 60 MWe (gross megawatt electric) CFB steam generator plus auxiliary equipment and provide site advisory services for the project.

The first is with UTE Africa Solar, the EPC contractor for the La Africana Solar Thermal Power Plant located in Fuenta Palmera (Cordoba, Spain) to supply steam generating components (feedwater heaters, preheaters, evaporators, superheaters and reheaters) for a single 50 MWe train thermal plant.

Refining NASSIRIYA, IRAQ: The Iraqi Ministry of Oil awarded a feasibility study and front-end engineering design contract for a new grassroots refinery. The proposed refinery will have a capacity of 300,000 barrels per day. FW will develop the configuration of the new refinery to meet the client’s processing objectives, evaluate proprietary technologies, prepare a report covering the feasibility of the project and the design basis of the refinery facilities, engage the selected licensors and prepare the FEED package for the total project.
