A Rockstar in the Educational Community Joins HLT

Throughout his career, Ferguson has ad-vocated for education through his service on nu-merous national boards, including the American Council on Education, the American Association of Community Colleges, Scholarship America, the Hunt Institute for Education Policy and Leader-ship, and the Business Higher Education Forum. The latter a national group of university presidents and corprate CEOs committed to strengthening the nation’s educational and workforce system.

Dr. Fergson is recognized throughout the world as a leader and trailblazer in the ed-ucation and workforce development. Having joined ACT in 1972, he became CEO in 1988, a position that he held until his retirement in 2010. During his time as CEO and Chairman, ACT grew from 150 to more than 1400 employ-ees. That growth reflected ACT’s emergence as the leading college admissions program in the country.
