Forewarned is Forearmed… Online Dissolved Gas Analyzer
Analysis of the gases dissolved in power transformer oil is recognized as the most useful tool for early detection and diagnosis of incipient faults in transformers. In addition, water contamination deteriorates the performance of the oil as high moisture content increases the risk of corrosion and overheating. This is in particular when the water content reaches the saturation point of the oil and free water is formed.
Besides regular gas chromatographic analysis and off-line moisture analysis of the insulation oil of power transformers, online monitoring systems gain more and more importance worldwide.

REG-DGA HC 01+
The REG-DGA HC 01+ is a permanently-installed composite gas-in-oil sensor
for the analysis of following dissolved key fault gases (TDCG = Total Dissolved
Combustible Gases):

Carbon Monoxide (CO) approx. 30 %
Methane (CH4) < 5 %
Acetylene (C2H2) 100 %
Ethylene (C2H4) approx. 32 %

The integration of 6 relevant key gases into a total weighted gas
concentration and the measurement of Moisture in oil enables the HC 01+ to
react to most transformer faults and makes the device to a compact and cost
effective tool used in particular for early transformer fault detection and
preventative maintenance.
The HC 01+ is equipped with 2 analog 0/4 ... 20 mA outputs for the dissolved
composite gas-in-oil and moisture in oil analysis results and 4 digital relay
outputs (Hi-alarm, Hi-Hi-alarm, Moisture-alarm and system function alarm)

REG-DGA HC 03
The REG-DGA HC 03 is a preventive maintenance device that is permanently
mounted on the transformer. It measures continuously the most important
fault gases in a power transformer, Hydrogen (H2), Carbon Monoxide (CO)
and Moisture (H2O).
Additionally, it serves for recording the fault gas contents, allows alarm levels
to be set for each fault gas and moisture content and offers output interfaces
(4-20mA) individually for H2, CO and H2O content.
By online monitoring of the key fault gases like Hydrogen (H2), Carbon
Monoxide (CO) and Moisture (H2O), an additional potential of cost reductions
and safety improvements can be achieved.

REG-DGA HC 05
The REG-DGA HC 05 is a permanently-installed multi-gas-in-oil analysis
system with transformer monitoring functions. It allows for the individual
measurement of moisture and the key gases namely Hydrogen (H2),
Carbon Monoxide (CO), Acetylene (C2H2) and Ethylene (C2H4) dissolved in
transformer oil.
As hydrogen (H2) is involved in nearly every fault of the insulation system
of power transformers and carbon monoxide (CO) is a sign of an
involvement of the cellulosic / paper insulation, the presence and
increase of acetylene (C2H2) and ethylene (C2H4) further classifies the
nature of a fault as overheating, partial discharge or high energy arcing.

(C2H2), Ethylene (C2H4) and Ethane (C2H6) dissolved in transformer oil.
