RESIDENTIAL SERVICE PROTECTIONIf you see on your Wave bill a $30 charge for a servicevisit, contest it immediately. All residents have Wave'sResidential Service Protection plan that you pay $2 amonth out of your monthly assessment (dues). This plancovers all Wave visits to your condo unit. Wave charges$30 for every, visit - so your $24 that you pay per yearunder the RSP plan pays for itself with just one visit. Also, a $4 charge showing up on your bill could be for aDTA box, which is free in PP. Call Wave and have thatremoved from your bill.

WAVE SOLDA year ago, TPG Capital agreed to purchase Kirkland-based Wave Broadband in a deal valued at about $2.36billion and change. Wave continues to operate as abranded name and entity. However, some people are

finding different company names on their Wave billing -pay it anyway. With this acquisition the deal has createdthe sixth largest internet and cable operator in the nation.

VOLUNTEERINGJohn Baschen wrote to the editor the followingmessage. "I would like to give recognition to someForest Village volunteers who are making asignificant contribution by working to improve theappearance of our Village grounds. Linda Brownhas adopted and cared for the steep triangular slopebehind the bench and crosswalk on Providence PointPlace SE. This is a difficult work area and she has itlooking pristine. Our new landscape chairperson,BiII Hickman, recently organized a volunteer $oupto weed, trim and clean up the street side planting onthe hill at226th Terrace. These volunteer activitiesand the people who are willing to donate their timeto improve the appearance of the Village truly makea difference."

FV PRESIDENT'S COMMENTSI would like to continue with the thoughts presented byJohn Baschen in the item above. I want to sincerelythank several people for stepping up and taking on someimportant committee positions. Bill Hickman for movingright in to the Landscaping Committee chairmanship, after Don Miller asked to step down. He is already doinga great job. Bob McRae for taking on the very criticalposition of Treasurer when Dave Granik announced thathe and Kathy are moving. Bob's experience is muchappreciated as he has been a past Treasurer. Don Millerfor taking over the Safefy Committee chairmanship, replacing Mary-London Eldred, so she can concentrateon her duties as Umbrella Board representative. Finally, I

would like to thank John Baschen for his work behindthe scenes in recruiting many of these people. His helphas been much appreciated. All of these people and manyothers help to make the President's job much easier. There are always committees that can use additional help,so I urge any residents who are interested in volunteeringto contact me or any committee chair. Thank you ForestVillage. BobEldred-President

O nn1r,oooo....,......Last year I replaced all the windows in my house withthose expensive, double-pane, energy-efficient kind.Today,I got a call from Home Depot rvho installed them. The caller complained that the work had been completeda year ago and I still hadn't paid for them. Helloooo,

just because I'm a senior citizen doesn't mean that Iam automatically mentally challenged. So,I told him justwhat his fast-talking sales guy told me last year--thatthese windows would pay for themselves in a year---Hellooooo? It's been a year, so they're paid for, I toldhim. There was only silence at the other end of the line,so I finally hung up. He never called back. I bet he feltlike a fool. Source: Intemet

FOREST VTLLAGE BOARD MEETINg 6-19-2018. Ernie Wolf reported on the emergency exit gateslocated at the end of the parking lot at the Lodge. Withthe participation of the Fire Marshall, Tim Boone andNate (PP Maintenance), it was discovered that a secondKnox Box had been placed atop a very tall post justinside the upper gate of our back exit. That must havebeen done many years ago prior to the SammamishHomeowners Association erecting the upper gate. Thissecond box is now installed on the outside of the uppergate where it can effectively be used by emergencyvehicles needing to enter Forest Village. The Knox Boxthat had been on the inside of the lower gate is nowmounted outside, on the opposite side of the same post, again for entry into our village by emergency vehicles.Of course keys to the locks are inside these Knox Boxes. We still have access to both gates with two keys in thewhite box on the village side of the lower gate. If youhave not located these gates, take time one day and take alook where they are.. A message from Bill Hickman, chair of the FVLandscape Committee. There is a mistaken impressionthat FV does not get its "fair share" oflandscapingservices in relation to the other villages. We, your FVLandscaping Committee, want to dispel this impressionby sharing with you how landscaping services arehandled. The first thing to realize is that though ForestVillage is one of seven villages in PP, it is roughly thesame size as the other six together. For this reason weactually get more attention than do any of the othervillages. It may be hard to believe, but it is true! NLSruns two crews five days a week. One crew is focused oncutting grass each week during the growing season. Theyare responsible for cutting and trimming the lawns andfor blowing the clippings off the walkways anddriveways. If that does not occur, please let one of us onthe committee know. The mowing crew will be workingweekly starting Monday June 18. Separately, NLS has acrew that rotates between the seven villages performingwork requests anO doing bed maintenanci. It is here thatFV actually gets more attention. The NLS crew spends aweek in each of the six villages on the other side, but twoweeks in FV. One week they focus on the area from tJre

entrance to the Crest the next week they focus from theCrest to the top of the hill. This latterNLS crew will be in

FV starting the week of June 25 and will stay in thevillage for the next two weeks. After that it will be 8

weeks before they are back to perform rvork requests. So,

if you have any landscaping concerns, now is the time toput in a work request.Other members of the committee: John Baschen, LindaBrown, Dode Eastman, Erica Ehlers, and JennyYeeles. Tim Brown, chair of the Building Committee reportedthe following. After significant delays, rvork is underwaywith a full team on the repairs of building #209. We stillbelieve rvork will be completed near schedule. TheBuilding Committee has authorized two efforts to assess

potentially needed repairs this year. The first is testing allthe unit main water valves that have not been checked inthe last fwo years. This is 103 units; all the units south ofthe bridge except the Crest which rvas tested last year.

The second is that we are seeking bids for re-coating thedecks on the Lodge, rvhich are seven years overdue. TheCommittee rryill meet rvhen the the tests and bids are

completed to decide rvhat to recommend to the ForestVillage Board. Window rvashing will start in ForestVillage on June 19 starting rvith the Crest and the Lodgeand continue to July 10.
