Air masses can control the weather for a period of time: from
days to months.
Most weather occurs along the boundaries of these air masses
called fronts.
Occluded fronts are produced when a fast moving cold front catches and overtakes a slower moving warm front.
Stationary fronts occur when a cold front and warm front meet and neither one advances. These type of conditions can last for days, producing clouds and no wind.
