On May 3-4 the Junior Golf Association of Arizona held its 14th Annual Quintero Cactus Cup! First held in May of 2001, this event is a competition of two 10-player teams (5 boys and 5 girls on each team). Teams are comprised of players who have excelled during the 2013 JGAA summer tournament season. This Ryder Cup/Solheim Cup style event was held again at the prestigious Quintero Golf Club, a semi-private golf community in Peoria, AZ, founded in 2000 and managed by Troon Golf. With great competition between the Founder and Charter Teams, it made for an exciting weekend of golf. Ultimately, the Founder Team made it out on top, winning 15 points over the Charter Team’s 5 points. Congratulations to all the team members! It was an unforgettable event! Inaugural “Decisions I Made” Speaker Series Event Deemed a Success

Starting off everyone’s Master’s Sunday, the JGAA held its inaugural Speaker Series: “Decisions I Made” event at Moon Valley Country Club on April 13th. The event featured PGA Tour winner Bryce Molder who told the attendees his powerful story and inspired a room full of almost 100 junior golfers and their parents. The event also included a hitting exhibition with Bryce Molder and his swing coach, Mike Labauve, PGA, to show the juniors how Tour Pros approach their practice regimen. Thank you to the sponsors, juniors, parents, JGAA friends and Bryce Molder for making this a wonderful first event!

Join the newest facet of the JGAA, the Junior Golf Ambassador program! The Junior Golf Ambassador program is the new service arm of the JGAA and will help teach young golfers (future leaders) the value of civic contribution, while allowing middle and high school student members to have an opportunity to earn service hour requirements. In addition to being a “hands on” learning tool, participating in this civic organization serves as a good resume builder for aspiring collegians. As a Junior Golf Ambassador, members will have the ability to earn the designation of “Ambassador All-Star” through a point system, which will entitle you to special privileges within the organization, as well as special recognition at the annual awards dinner at the end of the season. For complete information on the new JGAA Junior Golf Ambassador program: http://www.jgaa.org/member-info/junior-golf-ambassador-program/ To join the Junior Golf Ambassador Program, click the link above and fill out the form online.
