Over the last few weeks, students have been working with teachers towards generating great Eisteddfod items. It has been inspiring to see their energy and enjoyment as this opportunity approaches.
Reports will be going home next week (Week 9) on the 29th of June. We will again be continuing the three way interviews with the class teacher, student and their parent or carer. This is a great opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher to examine areas of strength and areas for growth in Semester Two. Booking
information is through our online process SOBS and we look forward to seeing you at the interviews. Information about our booking system has been sent home this week.
The Year 5 and Year 6 excursion is approaching quickly. The Year 5 students will be heading to Burrendong with other Year 5 students from schools across the Forbes Community and Year 6 will be heading to Canberra next term. Please ensure you have returned all notes and final payments are made in time to confirm your child’s place on these wonderful learning experiences.
In Week 10 students will participate in a PBL Acknowledgement Day as they have strived for Positive Behaviour for Learning this term. Students are looking forward to a number of special activities organised by teachers.
The last day of term is Friday the 6th of July and students will return next term on Tuesday the 24th of July.

Our Forbes Public School Cross Country Team
Girls Soccer vs Forbes North Public School
On Wednesday, 30th May the Girls Soccer Teams travelled to the Forbes Botanical Gardens to play against Forbes North Public School in the second round of the PSSA Knockout.
This proved to be a very tight competition with some strong tussles in the midfield. Both teams displayed great attack and defence throughout the game. Forbes Public School scored the first and only goal of the day after Rebecca Withers was successful at a penalty goal in the first half. All of the girls’ spirits were high and remained focused throughout the entire game.
Our team put in a fantastic effort to bring home the win 1- 0.
The Girls will now play Middleton Public school on 3rd July (Tuesday Week 10).
Miss Alex Jones – Girls Football Coordinator
Girls Basketball
On Thursday, 7th June the Girls’ Basketball Team walked to the basketball courts in Forbes to play against Cudgegong Valley in the first round of the Knockouts.
The girls were extremely eager to play and started the game well, shooting the first basket. It was an even first half of the game however Cudgegong proved too strong and ended up winning the game 28 – 6.
The girls should be extremely proud of their efforts, especially as many of the team were Year 3 and 4 students.
Boys Soccer vs Forbes Small Schools
On Friday the 15th of June the boys played the Forbes Small Schools in the third round of the PSSA Knockout.
The Boys Team came out very strong. Our attack was pressing forward at every opportunity and it wasn’t long before Samuel Motley had our first gaol.
The boys held their structure well and continued to push forward. Over the space of the next 15 minutes the team scored 4 more goals. 1 to Hugh Chudleigh and 3 to Reece Kollias who could not stop scoring!
Half time bought about a tactical switch with Jonah Little playing up front with Ben Crowley. Nick Zannes slipped into the midfield with Michael Behan and the two worked very well together.
Seth Butler, Malaki Paahi, Lachlan Kearney-Pallister and Keith Withers worked hard all day. Defending and chasing everything down. All made great stops. Cohen Stavleu played out of his skin making a number of crucial stops and clearing the ball any time it came near him. Justin Kruger came into the team and helped up our defence, forming an excellent partnership with Hugh.
We scored 4 more goals in the second half. 2 to Jonah, 1 to Michael and the final goal of the day was a nice piece of work by Alex Lemon making the score Forbes Public School 9 Forbes Small Schools 0.
Thankyou to everyone who came out and supported us on the day. Thanks also to The Forbes Small Schools for the game.
Mr Ben Cutrupi – Boys Football Coordinator
