FROM THE PRINCIPAL •••••
Dear Parents/Carers,
As we approach the end of what has been easily the most unusual school term of my 33 year teaching career I would like to take this opportunity to again thank all in our school community who have supported our efforts to provide continuity of learning to all students in such a crazy time!
Over the past couple of weeks we have been putting together work packs for every student from Kindergarten to Year 6. Some of these packs have had activities to complete online - for those with internet access and a suitable device - and some have contained 'pen and paper' activities for those who requested this mode of delivery. Even the online packs contain 'offline' tasks!
I am concerned that some of our home learning supervisors (ie: parents and carers) may be putting themselves under more stress than they need to. I mentioned last week that each pack contains a suggested timetable for activities. The key word here is 'suggested'. Our timetables are flexible! Here are some tips to help you to help your child at home:
1. Establish a routine. Your kids have gotten used to a routine at school. Where possible, have set times for learning and set times for breaks. But, be flexible - the main thing is that your child continues to learn.
2. Break time activities are optional. Suggested activities are just to give you ideas if your child asks for something to do. ~ , Health
NSW Western NSW 3. Only work for the suggested time. If a task is set for 30 minutes, then stick to 30 - Local Health District
minutes. If your child doesn't finish that's okay. You can come back to it at a later time or even on another day.
4. If you can't manage it all, focus on English (literacy) and Maths (numeracy).
5. Communicate with your child's teacher. We are here to help!
6. Look after your child's wellbeing - and your own! Don't put too much pressure on them or yourself.
Unfortunately, the way we are currently operating looks like being our 'new normal' for all of Term 2. We are all on a very steep learning curve, but together we can make this work.
School holidays commence this Friday April 10th . This will almost certainly be a very different school holiday period than what we are used to. Please try to find time to relax and enjoy time with the immediate family. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Hopefully you are keeping your minds active at home w ith your sch ool work, household chores,

Most importantly I hope you are using your
imagination in your play. You can use your imagination any way you want. .. you can travel

working before we know it.
Have a lovely Easter break and let 's hope the
bunny finds you . I checked the bunny's map and he will be going to your places first . So I hope he
has enough eggs for me in his basket when he

Hi 3/4J,
I know you are doing really well with your learning from home.
It is great to see so many of you completing the tasks and remaining on top of your school work.
I miss having everyone in the classroom. Have a safe and happy holiday.
Miss Jones
Hi Everybody,
Hope things are going well at home. Here at school, things are very quiet and we haven't been able to do much sport or PE as we haven't got enough
students to play any games.
However, that means that we are practicing our skills of skipping,
throwing, jumping, kicking, running, balancing, hopping, catching,
dodging, leaping, side galloping and fielding. These are all skills you can
do at home in your back yard.
Don ' t forget that while you are learning from home it is important to
go outside into you back yard and enjoy the fresh air. These are skills
you could practice with your family or compete with against your family.
