Nearly 300 guests, traveling from 10 states, packed Claudia Cassidy Theater and Preston Bradley Hall at the ChicagoCultural Center on September 7 to kick-off Cedille Records’ year-long 25thAnniversary celebration. This special 25th Anniversary Soirée raised over 200% morethan Cedille’s previous annual benefits, thanks to supporters who purchasedtickets, bid on silent auction packages, and made donations. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the inaugural Martin D. Ginsburg Award by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Martin D.Ginsburg Award acknowledges those who have honored Marty’s sustaining vision through their continued loyalty to Cedille Records and the music it produces, which gave Marty so much joy. The inauguralrecipients of the Martin D. Ginsburg Award are Dr. Carol F. Reich and Mr. Joseph H. Reich. Their involvement in supporting music came from Carol’s lifelong love of classical music, which she shared with
their friends Martin Ginsburg and Ruth Bader Ginsburg who the Reichs have known since they met at Cornell over 60 years ago. The Reichs have supported the mission of Cedille Chicago since theorganization began operations.Cellist Wendy Warner was joined byviolinists Rachel Barton Pine and Sang Mee Lee and pianist Kuang-Hao Huang forselections from her Cedille recordings and the

A LETTER FROM OURLEADERSHIP
Dear Friends,
In this special 25th Anniversary issue of For the Record, we share our recent activities and accomplishments and present a retro-spective of important Cedille milestones. We could not have achieved any of these mile-stones without your support of our mission.
Earlier this fall, Cedille Records kicked off our year-long 25th Anniversary celebration.Through this celebration, we hope to meet many new friends and strengthen ourrelationships with those we already know.
As a nonprofit, Cedille depends on charitable donations to record, produce, and promote the work of Chicago’s finest musicians and composers. Over the years, Cedille artists have reported how vital working with Cedille has been to their careers. We also continue to hear from classical music lovers that these artists’ music is a treasured part of so many collections.
In 2015, as we continue our 25th Anniversary celebration, we expect to release nine new recordings, maintaining the high output we’ve established over the last several years. We hope you enjoy our latest recordings and will continue to celebrate our 25th Anniversarywith us. Our progress is only possiblebecause of your support. Thank you!
Warmly,
David Rotholz James GinsburgBoard Chair President
