NEW HAMPSHIRE’S DOWNTOWN SWEET TOOTH TOUR For the Chocolate Enthusiast Best Time to Visit: Year-round! Day 1 – Merrimack to Lakes Visit Swan Chocolates (1) in Merrimack to tour their factory. Shop at the new Merrimack Premium Outlets (2) village. Enjoy lunch at the Farm to Table restaurant The Copper Door (3). Continue north to downtown Concord to pick up “supplies” at the Granite State Candy Shoppe (4). Drive to Stone Gate Vineyard (5) in Gilford to wash your sweet supplies down with samplings of wine. Overnight in Laconia or Gilford. Day 2 – Lakes to Mountains Drive to Kellerhaus (6), the oldest chocolate and ice cream makers in New Hampshire, to enjoy a waffle breakfast. Continue around the lake, stopping at the Moultonborough Country Store (7), possibly the oldest store in the United States. Stock up on penny candy and many other treasures. Head north to North Conway to ride the Conway Scenic Railroad’s Cider Train that stops at the White Mountain Cider Company (8). Overnight in North Conway. Day 3 – From West to East Take “the Kanc” across to Lincoln stopping for a group photo at the century and a half year old Albany Covered Bridge. Go to Clark’s Trading Post (9) for a black bear show and to enjoy a homemade lunch like no other. Continue north to Franconia Notch State Park (10) to ride the Cannon Tramway. Make sure to visit their ice cream window before leaving! Continue north on I-93 to the world’s longest candy counter at Chutters (11) in Littleton.
