1. WHY DID HE SPEAK?

In the year of King Uzziah's death, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.

Isaiah 6:1

And King Uzziah was a leper to the day of his death; and he lived in a separate house, being a leper, for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. And Jotham his son was over the king's house judging the people of the land. 22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first to last, the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, has written. (2 Chronicles 26:21-22).

While Uzziah was a good king, he became proud later on

1. WHY DID HE SPEAK?

Seraphim (“the burning ones”) stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” 4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.

Isaiah 6:2-4

The Holiness of God

1. WHY DID HE SPEAK?

Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”

Isaiah 6:5

How it affected him!

Page 12: For Teenagers: Living by God's Standard - the book of Isaiah

1. WHY DID HE SPEAK?

1. God called him confront to His people, that they were sinning and not living to God’s standard - holiness

2. God warned them of His impending judgment and that they were to repent

3. Did the people receive Isaiah’s message happily and repent?

4. Do you think people today will receive his message?

5. Do you think people will respond if they were told that they are sinners and that they must repent immediately?

Read Isaiah 2:6-8

ISAIAH 1:4

Alas, sinful nation,

People weighed down with iniquity,

Offspring of evildoers,

Sons who act corruptly!

They have abandoned the Lord,

They have despised the Holy One of Israel,

They have turned away from Him.

Literally “Seed of Evil Ones.”
