Comments: Historic Jameson Hotel constructed in 1889 by Theodore Jameson completely restored in 1989

for the filming of Heavens Gate.

Maggie, The Ghost of the Jameson. The story goes that a women by the name of Maggie came to the

Jameson Hotel several years ago and checked into Room 3. Her lover had recently struck it rich with a

claim and had taken a quick trip back East, but had promised her that he would return shortly and then they

could be married. She had come to the hotel to await his departure, but the weeks turned into months

turned into years and her lover never returned. Finally one day, several years later, she gave up hope and

finally left the hotel. However, may believe that after she died, she returned to the Historic Jameson

Restaurant Saloon and Inn to resume her wait. She is reportedly sighted often in Room 3 or elsewhere in

the hotel, dressed in a long, flowing Victorian dress. Some even report seeing her in the mirror. Guests that

stay in the room have found themselves locked in the room itself or even the bathroom and have to wait

for the staff to arrive the next morning to be let out. There are even antique hairbrushes that are believed to

belong to Maggie that appear suddenly in front of the mirror. Still others have reported hearing a soft

woman’s voice in the night when no one else is around.
