Introduction

Since 1965, Jurong Port has grown to becomeSingapore’s onlyinternational multi-purpose port operator today

The Port is well-equipped with facilities, equipment and services to handle all types of cargo,

including different types of bulk, break-bulk, palletized and project cargo.

The Port’s General Cargo Terminal and Bulk Cargo Terminal are the hubs for steel products,

metals, mechanical appliances and machinery, cement, copper slag, sugar and project

cargo, among others. In addition, there are ample column-free warehouses and open yards

to support cargo storage, packing, consolidation and distribution activities in its Free Trade

Zone (FTZ). Selective warehouses have also been approved by the London Metal Exchange

(LME) Limited for the storage of LME-traded metals.

Small Crafts Terminal



The terminal has a total berth length of 665 metres. Located at J1 Basin in the port, the

facility is a hive of activities for wooden crafts, operating between Singapore and Batam.

Cement Terminal

The Jurong Port has one of the largest common-user cement facilities in the world, with an

annual handling capacity of over 4 million tonnes. The facility is installed with specialized

cement handling system, well-supported by 2 dedicated berths of 40,000 deadweight

tonnes capacity each, 3 screw-type unloaders, and a state-of-the-art enclosed air-slideconveyor system to ensure a pollution-free environment.

Sugar



Jurong Port has a dedicated berth for sugar imports and a 550-metre enclosed conveyor

belt, which transfers the sugar shipment directly from the vessel at the berth into the

customer’s, SIS’ 24,000-tonne silo, located just outside the port. It takes an average of 3

days to deliver the bulk sugar.
