Linear Bar Grilles

DASCO Linear Bar Grilles and Registers DLB (G,R) covers a wide range for supply and return air distribution of HVAC systems and are suitable for ceiling, floor, sill and sidewall applications. DASCO Linear Bar Grilles & Registers are multiparallel fixed bar type in continuous modular section up to 5 meters long to form linear type grilles. They are available in one way airflow pattern for zero degree bar deflection and in one or two way air flow pattern for (15˚) & (30˚) bar deflection. DLB (G,R) standard widths ranges from 3”to 12” (76mm-305mm). For quiet airflow, bars are equally spaced at 12.5mm (1/2”) distance Flat frames are standard but curved frames on request can be supplied for all models. Mull ion bars across the b lades provide additional strength. Mitered corners available in various arrangements to suit different installations.

High quality extruded aluminium sections in matt silver anodized finish. White colour in electrostatic polyester powder coating finish available as standard. Other colours as per RAL standards are also available upon request.

STANDARD 90˚ HORIZONTAL MITERED CORNER SECTIONSuitable for floor, sill or ceiling application.This standard corner section is available in 0˚, 15º and 30º deflection settings with angle of 90º. When specifying a corner section with 15º or 30º deflection settings, it is important to specify the direction of its throw either towards the insideor outside of the corner. Corner sections are not provided with dampers.

VERTICAL OUTSIDE MITERED CORNER SECTION Designed for sidewall applications at the junctions of two outside walls. This type of corner section has a standard angle of 90º and is available in 0º, 15º and 30º deflection settings . Corner sections are not provided with dampers.

Use an Alnor Velometer with tip No. 2220 or 2220A .For outlets less than 3” wide , position tip over center bar and take velocity readings at various points along the length of the liner bar grilles . For outlets greater than 2 1/2” wide, take velocity readings near the outer and center or near center bar at various points along the length of the linear bar grilles.Take a minimum of four equally spaced readings .Average the velocity readings .Select appropriate Ak from table (2).Determine CFM by the following equation :CFM = Ak x Active Length x Average Velocity .

SAMPLE PROBLEM :Determine air flow rate through a 5” wide ( 15º ) – 14 feet long supply liner bar grille. The active length is a total of 7 feet .

SOLUTION The average of 14 velocity readings taken at various points along the active length of the linear bar grille centered over the next to outer bar and middle bar is 525 fpm.From table (2) the Ak for 5» wide 15º on supply air is 0.19CFM=Ak x Active Length x Average Velocity=0.19 x 7 x 525=700 CFM

FLOOR GRILLES & REGISTERS

Floor grille DFG – 21HFloor grille DFGL – 21H

DASCO Floor Grilles and Registers (DFG -21 H/V & DFR -21 H/V) are designed to be installed on floors where air ducts are required to be underneath the floor level, such as for computer rooms. They are des igned to withstand 450 kg. point load for heavy duty applications.

GENERAL

Floor grille DFG – 21H

DFG -21 H/V are multiparallel, horizontal or vertical fixed Bars in continuous modular sections. They are available in fixed pattern of air flow (Zero deflection) for supplying vertical air flow. Bars are of heavy duty type 6mm wide, and are equally spaced at(1/4”) distance.

Description

Mullion bars across the blades provide additional strength and extra special reinforcement in the structure of the grille to withstand loads up to 450 kg. Bars are fixed by a standard frame (1.5mm thickness). Special type heavy duty frames with 7mm thickness are also available forming an extra special heavy type of floor grilles.Both horizontal and vertical bar models can be supplied with apposed blade dampers and are called registers DFR-21 H/V.

Frame blades and dampers are all of heavy gauge extruded aluminum sections in matt silver anodized finish. Blades are 6mm thickness, and standard frames are flat type extruded aluminum with 1.5 mm thickness sections. Special blades for heavy duty type floor grilles are available in 7mm thickness. DASCO floor grilles can be supplied in white polyester powder coating finish or any other specified RAL- standard colour upon your requirement .
