Case studies- Optimizing research funding
Case study 1: Project Initiated by a Researcher Align the project objectives/results/deliverables to meet
the requirements of the funding agencies (program priorities, needs and perspectives)
Involve a private partner (under confidential terms) to co-develop the project proposal – define the implementation process plan and address the needs of the private partner
Develop a strategic partnership with a strong letter of support (with cash and in-kind contribution of the partner)
Increase the research proceeds (effort/activities) through co-funding by agencies and private partners.
-
Case studies- Optimizing research funding
Case study 2: Project Initiated and Funded by Private Partner Align the research objectives defined by your Private
partner with additional activities that can have a positive impact in the entire research outcomes
Increase the research funds by leveraging your Private partner (cash and in-kind) contribution through NSERC CRD, MITACS, Consortia (CRIBIQ, CRITM…) programs
Build upon successful cases of a collaboration with Private partners in order to apply for a NSERC Industrial Research Chair.
