Westphalia Picnic & Homecoming Join parishioners of the Church of the Visitation, Westphalia on Sunday, October 13th. The day will begin with the Pilgrims’ Mass at 10:00 am followed by plates of sausage, fried chicken and Westphalia noodles for $10 a plate. The Praha Brothers Band will play from 11:00 am - 2:00

pm followed by the Live Auction. Other events will be a baked and homemade items booth, bin-go, and games for the kids. We hope you’ll join us in Westphalia!

Seek Virtue In today’s first reading, Amos condemns a self-absorbed people and their morally corrupt behavior and attitudes, which he warns will bring devastation. In the Gospel, the wealthy man is not given a name; he is simply the epitome of greed and irresponsibility. His lack of caring has created a gulf between him and the beggar Lazarus that not even Abraham can bridge. In his letter to Timothy, a young bishop in the small Resurrection community of Ephesus, Paul exhorts this leader to seek virtues such as integri-ty, faith, and steadfastness with great gentleness. Paul also asks Timothy to keep in mind the future life with God who “dwells in unapproachable light.” This is the blessedness of all those who, like Lazarus, were once poor but who are now rich. HOLY ROSARY PARISH BAZAAR SUNDAY - OCTOBER 6, 2019 Cakes Needed We are asking all ladies to bring 2 sheet cakes for the bazaar lunch. Please mark what kind of cakes you bring. Games at the Festival RE classes will have a ring toss booth at the ba-zaar. We are requesting donations of 2 liter bot-tles of soda to be left in cry room. Please, no diet sodas. Meat Donations If you are interested in making a monetary do-nation to offset meat costs for the Bazaar, please contact Melvin Ubernosky. Live Auction Items If you are interested in making a donation to the live auction, you may contact Lawrence Vavra or bring the item to the Frenstat Church Office after Mass. Make sure you put the donor’s name on the item. Country Store It is not too early to start collecting your items to sell in the Country Store. We appreciate your support in the past. The Country Store has al-ways had an excellent variety of unique prod-ucts to sell. Silent Auction If you would like to donate an item for the Si-lent Auction, you may drop your item off in the Parish Office before or after Mass or bring it the day of the Bazaar. If you drop it off in the office, please mark the item "For Silent Auc-tion" along with the donors name.
