DScOT Curriculum

This dynamic 18 month program

includes didactics, residencies, and a clinical research project. First,

students focus on enhancing their

clincal knowledge and then they

integrate hands-on clinical practice in the residencies.

Areas of emphasis include behavioral health, amputee

rehabilitation, burn and trauma

rehabilitation, traumatic brain

injury, ergonomics, and upper

extremity neuromusculoskeleta

l evaluation and treatment.

The program culminates with an

orignal research project suitable for

submission to a peer-reviewed journal as

well as for presentation at national level conferences.

Eligibility

Be a U.S. citizenBe at least 21 years of age Have a bachelors or masters degree in OT. If applicant does not have a masters degree in OT, he/she must have at least 9 post-professional clinical credits (post OT degree)Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)Meet Army medical and physical fitness standardsHave a current GRE

Military Obligation

Begin in March 2010 in San Antonio at the Army Medical Department Officers’ Basic Leadership Course (OBLC)Start DScOT at Brooke Army Medical Center after OBLCServe 60 months on active duty which includes all training time
