The HealthPro Plus isn’t just a better air cleaner. It introduces a whole new level of air cleaning that has never previ-ously been available for home use. Based on technology that IQAir developed for hospitals and multi-million dollarclean rooms, IQAir created its patented HyperHEPA technology. Ordinary HEPA is advertised to filter particles onlydown to 0.3 microns in size, but 90% of all ultrafine particles are below 0.3 microns. Efficiency statements of many air cleaners look impressive at first glance. Air cleaners with HEPA filters often advertise efficiencies of 99.97% for particles of 0.3 microns (that’s about 240 times smaller than the width of a human hair) and larger. That sounds veryimpressive, but these claims are based on the theoretical efficiency of the HEPA filter material used and not on the actual clean airproduced by the air cleaner. System leakage and inferior construction can greatly reduce the system efficiency, and independent testing indicates that many popularly selling air cleaners don’t even meet 10% of their label claims. This is particularly true of manyair purifiers that rely on ionizing, electrostatic, and ozone technology. Microbiological Air ContaminantsThe air in a dental surgery actsas a carrier of a variety ofmicrobiological particles.These contaminants aregenerated mainly during dentalprocedures. The use of high-speed drills and ultrasonicscaling equipment launchestiny moisturedroplets

that contain blood, saliva and fillingparticles into the air. These dropletsare between 0.5 and 5 micro-meters (µm) in diameter, and arelight enough to stay airborne forhours. Bacteria and viruses whichare contained in these micro-droplets are easily inhaled andconstitute a potential source ofinfection to the dentist, dentalstaff and patients.

Mercury (Hg)Numerous studies show thatdentists and their staff have higherthan average levels of inorganicmercury (Hg) in their blood andurine. Since mercury is odorlessand transforms from solid to gasat room temperature, thedangers of chronic exposure tomercury can easily remainundetected. Mercury vapor is notonly released and potentiallyinhaled when dental amalgam isplaced, but also when these fillings areremoved. The dental office itself canbecome a secondary source of mercuryvapor exposure to dentists and staff.Over the years, mercury may have gotteninto floors, cracks of chairs or sinks andmay now continuously release mercuryvapor into the room.

DisinfectantsChemical disinfectants arebeing used in the dentalpractice to decontaminatehands, instruments andsurfaces. Disinfectantsthat kill germs, viruses,and fungi spores oftencontain formaldehyde,glutaraldehyde or phenol.

Aldehydes are well-known for theirsensitizing potential and theirinhalation toxicity. Exposure toaldehydes at low doses on a continuousbasis may lead to chronic toxic effects,the symptoms of which are mostlyunspecific (nausea, impairment of thememory, motivation, reactivity ordexterity). Even less toxic alcoholiccompounds, such as ethanol, isopropanol,and n-propanol, can cause irritation of the

respiratory tracts and the mucousmembranes. An unpleasant disinfectant odor

is often the only sign that unhealthy airpollutants are present.

Latex AllergensThe use of protective latex gloves can cause

allergic reactions due to body contact orinhalation of latex allergens. Theseallergens adhere to the talcumpowder particles of the glove andcan thus become airborne.

X-Ray DevelopmentChemicalsFor the development of x-ray filmsseveral organic chemicals, such asglutaraldehyde, are being used.These chemicals give off gases thatcan contribute to the contaminationof the ambient air in dentalenvironments.

The FlexVac kit converts any IQAir filtration unitinto a mobile, self-contained extraction system forthe capture of gases, fumes, vapors, smells and dustparticles at the air pollution source. Distinguishingfeatures of the FlexVac kit are:

Exceptional ReachThe FlexVac kit features a self-supporting suctionduct that gives the FlexVac a horizontal reach of upto 7’ and a vertical reach of up to 9’.

The InFlow W125 kit allows any IQAir filtra-tion unit to be adapted to draw outside airthrough a wall or window vent into an indoorenvironment. The InFlowW125 kit can be usedto create a clean area, to ventilate a room withfresh, filtered air from outdoors or to createnegative pressure or positive pressure areas.

Clean Area & Cleanroom UseThe supply of filtered air into an environmenthelps reduce air pollution in that environment bydilution and the creation of positive pressure,which reduces the influx of polluted outside airinto the clean area.With the InFlowW125 kit, thefiltration unit is positioned inside the clean areaor cleanroom, allowing for convenient control ofthe unit.

VentilationNo filtration system can add oxygen to indoorair. Fresh, oxygen-enriched air from outdoors isin any case essential. The InFlow W125 allowsundesirable pollutants to be filtered fromoutdoor air before it is brought into an indoorenvironment.

Isolation AreasThe control of airborne pathogens that can leadto the transmission of infectious diseases, liketuberculosis (TB), demands the creation ofnegative pressure environments.With the InFlowW125, the air filtration unit is positioned outsidethe isolation area.This saves valuable space andreduces noise exposure inside the isolation area.

The InFlow W125 kit easily modifies any IQAirfiltration unit. Simply slide the extension blocksinto the air cleaner’s base and screw the suctionadapter to the base. All that is needed to installthe InFlow W125 ducting, internal flange, walltube and vent is a 132 mm (5.2”) opening in awall or window. The InFlow W125 kit includes adamper and a protective mesh grille whichprevent backdrafts and entry of coarse particleswhen the system is not in use.The large 125 mm(5”) diameter of the ducting ensures low airresistance, typically reducing the air flow of anIQAir filter unit by only 10-30% (depending onmodel and fan speed).

The flexible duct may be freely flexed to allowcontrol over the desired vent location. It isexpandable in length, from 250 mm (10”) in itsoriginal compressed state, to 600 mm (24”)when fully extended.

The OutFlow W125 kit allows filtered air from anyIQAir filtration device to be directed through a wallor window vent.The OutFlow W125 kit can be usedto create a clean area, deliver filtered air into acleanroom or to the outside, as well as create under-pressure or over-pressure areas.

Clean Area & Cleanroom UseThe supply of filtered air into an environment helpsreduce air pollution in that environment by dilutionand the creation of over-pressure, which reduces theinflux of polluted air from outside the environment.With the OutFlowW125 kit, the filtration device ispositioned outside the clean area or cleanroom,saving valuable space and reducing noise exposure. Italso eliminates the danger of housing leakage, makingit suitable even for certified cleanrooms.

Emission ControlLegislation limits the emission of polluted air to theoutdoors.The OutFlow W125 filters air before it isexhausted outdoors to help meet environmentalemission standards.

Simply replace the top module of anystandard IQAir filtration unit with the TopFlowadapter.All that is needed to install the ducting, walltube and vent is a 5.2” opening in a wall or window.The OutFlow W125 kit also includes a damper and aprotective mesh grille which prevents backdrafts andentry of coarse particles when the system is not inuse. The large 5” diameter of the ducting ensureslow air resistance, typically reducing the air flow ofan IQAir filtration unit by only 10-30% (dependingon the specific model and fan speed).

The aluminum duct may be freely flexed to allowcontrol over the desired vent location. It is expand-able in length from 10” in its original compressedstate to 39” when fully extended.

Additional Coarse Dust Protection for IQAir® Devices

Each IQAir filtration device features a fine dustpre-filter. For environments with elevated levels ofcoarse dust, the PF40 kit can be added forsuperior coarse dust filtration.This helps to extendthe life of the unit’s standard pre-filter element.

Quick to install, the PF40 kit consists of an uppergrille which screws into the filtration device’s base.A synthetic coarse dust filter pad is held in placeby a lower grille that is secured by four clips.The1/2 inch deep non-woven design of the PF40 filterpad ensures superior coarse dust holding capacity.

The filter pad may be washed several times beforeit needs to be replaced.

Vertical Mount Fixture Kit for IQAir® Filtration Devices

The VMF kit allows you to mount an IQAirfiltration device on virtually any structurallysound vertical surface.The VMF kit is compatiblewith all IQAir models and is designed tocompliment the elegant IQAir look.

The vertical mounting of an IQAir unit may bedesirable in areas where floor space is scarce orthe unit would present an obstacle.The verticalmount may also improve the air cleaning perfor-mance of an IQAir device. Air pollutants with arising flow pattern, such as tobacco smoke, arecaptured more quickly by positioning the devicehigher in the room.

Vertically mounting an IQAir unit emulates theeffect of a fume hood. If directly mounted abovean air pollution source, the IQAir filtration

device helps to capture rising dust,fumes or vapors.

The VMF kit is designed so thatall filters are fully serviceablewhile the IQAir filtration deviceremains wall mounted. Theremovable bottom grille allowseasy filter replacement evenwhen the PF40 coarse dust pre-

filter accessory is used.

The VMF kit includes six universal wallplugs and screws suitable for concrete, brick

or dry wall. The wide spread of the fixturepoints allows for optimum weight distributionon the wall. A locking mechanism ensures thatthe air filtration unit remains safely fixed in thewall mount.

The power cord is connectable to the aircleaner on either side of the vertical mount.

The remote control, which is supplied with eachIQAir device, ensures convenient operabilityeven when the control panel is out of reach.
