In one corner of the house

There she is, wearing a blue blouse

Blue, for she is feeling blue

In her life, it seems there’s no more hue.

She was alone, tormented alone,

Holding her phone, wearing her earphone

Calling someone else home

 Just to fill the oblivion.

When boredom strikes,

She simply makes trips,But in the end she sigh

For she wonders how and why.

You oftentimes see her smile

For loneliness and tears pile

She never wanted it to last

Hoping that time would run so fast

Days were passing,Still there she is longing and sobbing

Hiding the pain inside

In her heart emptiness resides.

Hampered Justice by: AileenJane Mallonga

How can it be that way?How can I say it’s okay?

How can I believe it’s fair?  If it’s really unfair

I’ve been starving for the justice Hoping to hold that peaceBut I do feel it already ceasedWhen and where would that exist?

How can I move on?

If I can always reckonThat unjustifiable mem’ries of the past  That keeps on imprisoning me on the dust.

Would it be that kind?So I can find serenity on my mindQuestions keep on going

As river water keeps on flowing

How can I smile? If grieves and sorrows pileHow can I say I’m alright?  If I see it’s not right

I may say they’ve been blind  By the force of a terrible windThat taking every gasp of my breathe

Leaving my numb body oozing with sweat

Justice may be somewhereBut would it be in the man of powerThat tends my skeleton shiver

And even raise my nippy temper

Injustice of the past

Is like a monster that casts A phantom of the operaTurning your life truly a drama.

It may look like a rosy life Every torn cuts like a knife

Another chapter can’t turn Because in sorrow you were burn.

You may intend to forget it all Leaving it ‘til the last leaf fall Somehow justice shall reign

 Just like a torch’s flame.

Numb; Insensitiveby: AileenJane Mallonga

They’re already crying Yet for her it’s just nothing They were hurt that muchFor her there is no pain as such.

You may say she don’t bother at all But she’s pulled at two poles Everywhere noise are foundShe wanna go to a place where peace sounds.

Alone, along the dark placeShe covers her faceShe don’t want see them quarrelling

Her heart is bleeding.

She wanted to runawayGo, too far awayBut she can’t leave them that way Stop She wanted to say.

They may not see her cryingBut deep inside it’s hurting It’s already painful

She can’t shout out even its sorrowful.

You may say she’s insensitive and numb Yes she is she’s already numb Her heart is shattered by a bombIt seems that she’s stuck in a tomb.

Partly dead and coldBut still things remain untold

Under the bright starsYou can feel and see the scars.

Shadowed with tears

by: AileenJane Mallonga

HAPPY a word easy to spell

But you can never detect nor tell

If a person is really in that state

Maybe she just pretends? Or it’s totally

fake?

Smile, project it that way and this way

Thousands or millions mile away

She really wanted to run away

In bed of roses she wanted to lie.

Behind those smiles were tears,

Sorrow, loneliness, rage and even fearsShe may laugh and even crack a joke

Deep within her heart she mopes.

How silly it may be?

It’s like you were stung by a bee

Froze in the deep blue sea

End up in letter zee.

In just a click of the camera

You smile, just like in an op’ra

But truly it’s a drama

Happy, then you smile, deep inside you cry!

I saw you yesterdayIn my heart it’s a holiday I rushed towards you to hug youTo let you feel how much I missed you.

Before I go to bed, I saw your lovely face

You smiled at meI gave you back my sweetest smileTo let you know how much I really long to hold you back

In my dreams we were together againBliss of being happy together againSavouring your every word“I don’t wanna leave you for I can’t live without you”

Suddenly all turned blackSeemed to be controlled by a black spellYou left me, I lose youYou tell a lie, even bid goodbye.I woke up in the morningIt wasn’t that good, it still hurts, and tears were flowing The pain didn’t fade away Reminds me of the day you walked away.

How happy I am to have you, it’s too fast  But then all those moments didn’t last  Now, it’s just a part of my past  It’s over; it’s an illusion of the past.

Hiddenby: AileenJane Mallonga

Separated by a hundred mileBut it all started with a smileUntil such time they became closerShare secrets with each other.

They became friends

Best of friendsHe’s her crying shoulder Whenever she’s in a bother

She don’t really expectThat it would come to that pointShe thinks she’s falling? But it’s insane

She don’t really know how

Even know why? All she just know is that she caresBut again it’s one of her nightmare.

It must end, put an endEven she just pretendIt’s an infa tuationSome say its adoration. She hides her feelings towards himEven it’s hurting her like a pin Maybe it’s a sin But to tell him would be mean

She’ll wait for that time Time he would be hersLove with each other shineWhen would be that sign?

Her adoration for him remains

Hopin’ the feeling would be mutual and the same Behind those caring thoughtsShe hides the feelings to remain uncaught.

We‟ve spend so many night

Reviewing that tight

In order to be right

And to give the best fight

But suddenly something went wrong

Just like singing in a wrong tune of a song

It takes us that long

„Til  the bell rings “ding dong”.

Exam day really terrifies

Even make you cry

Especially when scores are announce

It seems tongue-tied and nothing to pronounce.

It shakes your world

It seems nothing left even a single word

Answers were on the board

If you‟re incorrect it kills like a sword

If you have that correct answer

It seems you have the courage and power

It drives you to say a yell

Saying” it‟s not that hell”

After how many days or even a week

Your professor shall say “later I‟ll announce

your grades”

Slightly you chilled; rush out to buy a bottle

of GatoradeFeeling you‟re sick, madly sick.

You‟re mistaken

You‟re an imp erfect man

You must accept

Don‟t regret.

Better luck next time

Be sure you‟re in the rhyme

Bring out the most out of it

Good scores, hit it.

In our mistakes we learn

Great lore we earnIt‟s not yet the end

We can still comprehend.

I don’t really know him well Even the place where he dwellst first I don’t really mind him at all

Except when I saw his tears fall

I can see the sorrowPulling him into the furrowSmiles were trashedHatred rushed

I hope to see him smilingA day that his world seem to be bloomingThat man I’ve never known I may call him xenon

Muffled

by: AileenJane Mallonga

Lying down in her bedWanting things to be saidBut how can I?Within herself she sigh

She remains quietLending her ears into the sound of silenceHow oxymoron it is?

 Just to have that ease.

In silence there is peacePeace of mind, peace of worldQuarrels ceasedYou can no longer hold

Quiet, remained as an anecdoteSounds like antidoteOn the other hand,Things remain untold

When would be thingsBe in tune?If things were spokenSomeone would no longer be broken.

Try to shout it outEast, west, north and southThroughout the portals of this magical,A mysterious world where both mortal and immortalcollides.

Once in a while, try not to be quietCry out loud, reveal themSadness shall vanishedYou will no longer be punished.

I’m missing you so, Come back to me!

By: AileenJane Mallonga

You told me once I’m your closest friend, if you say that

so then, may I say I’m that important for you too? Can

wish to hear it twice or may you repeat it to me every

day, how much I really mean to you? If I am that so, can

you spare me your time, even not that much, for it

won’t take any longer? Or can you  just say you’re busy

or up to something during those times I need you so

that I’ll no longer long for your comfort, can’t you? Can

you whisper me that you can’t wipe my tears and can’t

join me at the moment, can’t you? Can you just drop by

for a while by the time you already felt the coldness I’m

showing you, so that I can say you can no longer takemy treatment, can’t you? If I make a call can you pick it

up quickly so I can say that you’re always be there

always ready to rescue me, can’t you? Can you say it

thousand times?

Can you say I’ll never be in blue because surely you’l

paint the smile onto my face, can’t you? Can you save

these lines, keep it and eventually, you will say, whispe

or send me the response as soon as you received it? I’l

shorten the time you might get exhausted saying it

thousand times, but if ever you will say it and even

outnumber that will you proudly say “you will never get

tired and never rue of doing such”? Am I that selfish fo

that number of wishes I want you to do, or to reduce

the degree, I ask you to do? Just tell me, I’ll wait ‘til the

last leaf of that tree situated in the east fall. But even

you won’t show up anymore I’ll still be  here for you

silently caring and watching you even you did not tel

me to do it.

How are you? Are you enjoying her company? All I can

do is to simply spill it out to the air, hoping that it wil

reach you, because I can’t verbalize those to youpersonally. What took you so long? Did you miss me

too? Can you come closer, so I can let you feel how

much I long to win you back? Now, we’re too near yet

too far? So maybe it’s impossible for you to say it

thousand times, but what if for another time you’ll utte

it, will you grant me? Partly, I can figure it out that way

because you did not give me any sign or hint that you

also wanted to come back, every time our roads crossed

you try to avoid me by all means and that kinda hurt

me, but still I didn’t lose the hope that one day you wil

Page 7: for folio (literary pieces)

8/12/2019 for folio (literary pieces)

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/for-folio-literary-pieces 7/15

and if ever that happens I’ll never let go of you

anymore. If you’ll do it so I’ll be in yellow.

What if you didn’t leave me? Maybe we have shared

more memories. Hope you still care for me even though

those smiles fade because of our past, that past gave

you the reasons of letting me go. May I ask you this,

why did you allow that to happen? If you didn’t make

that move we’ll never be this way  and at the moment

maybe we are enjoying the amorous company of each

other. Hope you had already forgotten it, and soon you

will approach me extending your desire to start it again

and clearly we will be together again. And promise each

other that “we’ll be friends forever, forever and ever”,

crossed our hearts match with a tight hug. We will make

memories for the second time. The question is when

will that be? Hope my long wait will be over, sooner.

Again, “I’m missing you so my dear friend. Please, come

back to me, I can’t afford losing you”.

Oh! I see more people are blinded here. Everyone I see have a pair of eyes,They stare but the vista they don’t dare.

All the image of reality flies.

Oh! I see many ears but are deaf,Only for mere pageant they are setOr should I say they are pretentious? To discount the demand of truth...

Hands are existing but are useless

Palms that are also tucked in Arms that do not extend A couple enjoying gloomy idleness

More eyes spells lesser seeing.Numerous ears dictate minor hearing.Countless hands press reduced help.

Ah! But this is a half Siberia.

This city makes me dispiritedUrbanizations all but not prayersCrestfallen, I call, I plead, and I died busted. No one sees, no one hears, no one cares.

But I want to Love

by: Victor P. Mangoma

Loving is not to alter,But it changes man gradual,Sudden- severe- for goodOr worse- any tendency.

Horrendous! It can oblige. To hold and not liberateThough there is no more cheerAnd delight in the love tendered.

Dreadful! It can forbidIt confines you from a fair

 and blissful wandering.This string limits.

Confusing! It is misinterpretedThen the rigorous stringWhen conversed to but misreadThe pain can be relentless.

But I want to love and be altered- lovely! Not to oblige but to liberate and delightTo be confined in contentment secure. To grasp that pain renders me forbearing.

Pa’no pa nga ba magsasaya?

Devastated, partially doomed.

A man of honor

A man of courage

A man of integrity

A man of bravery

He‟s a hero

A man with dignity

But suddenly blind by the world‟s wickedness

Then the one I know had vanished

A man to be adored

But became a man to be annoyed

It‟s because of injustice  It kills him every time he reminisce

He seek the help of others

But others refused

He fought alone the unworthy personality

Even sacrificing his dignity

In rapture and despair

He live mightily

They captured him

But still he has that grim

He died for the mankind

Chances to him had been unkind

But his death is the igniting fireTo set off those cruelty and brutality

Its malignant

He suffered a lot

But it‟s a good plot

For the death of the rampant injustice and

“Bayani sa may tulay”

By: AileenJane Mallonga

by: AileenJane Mallonga

dinadala, marahil mayroon siyang pinagdaraanan.

Page 12: for folio (literary pieces)

Broken Chords”

by: AileenJane P. Mallonga

It’s already 7:00 o’clock in the morning;the sun had set already gently smiling andsimply reminding us to cheer up to move onand to let those bad experiences pass. For astudent to wake up in such time would reallycause tardiness. Nerissa a 16-year old girl whobecame too angry at the world she’s living in.The smiles had faded and withered. Therhythm had stopped. The song was sung in awrong tune. The love for music seemed to bethrashed. The happy Nerissa had evolved intoa witch Nerissa.

Every day she enters the most

prestigious university in her beloved town butshe appears to be xenon to everyone thoughshe’s been studying there for almost a coupleof year. She always goes to school late and eyebags surrounds her almond eyes. No one knowswhat made her so bitter. She talks to no oneseems she’s always tongue-tied.

When she’s still in Elementary shealways indulges herself joining singingcompetitions and she always bring home thebacon. During those times her father isalways behind her back her father supportsher all the way. The Nerissa who loves musicrocks anyone’s world. No reason for her tomope. Years later the shining Nerissa in the

music industry had withdrew left one of thereasons for her to enjoy life.

No one really knows the reason why.Looking back into her past- a past she taggedas a nightmare- the one big happy familywas set into a situation wherein no one wouldchose neither to be in it nor to live in it. Her

father who always pushes her to hone hertalent in singing abandoned them. He leftNerissa’s mother in blue. As a result themother acts in two persons to fill the absenceof his husband who left them in the lurch. The mother burns candles at both ends. Evensacrificing her happiness-the time she shouldspend with her children. Nerissa who wasthen in senior high started hating herselfand she told herself not to sing anymore.Every night is a rain of tears. She’s alwaysin pain a pain that can never be healed evenby a sleeping pill.

Just like what her fickle-mindedfather did she abandoned a thing. All thosethings had happened for only one reason. Sheforgot everything about music because itreminds her of her father who had made herlife miserable and a phantom. Hatred rushed.Every morning is not a new day for her; she’sstuck in the dark memories of the past and a

monster that casts. She can’t move on.

The jigsaw puzzle can never becompleted just like her broken chords. Chordsan illusion of her past that keeps onshattering her into pieces. Music had stopped. The rhythms can no longer be in symphony. The tune can no longer be in harmony. The

pieces can no longer be in play. The chords wastotally broken shattered and rest in pieces.

They can’t take them away

By: Jenalyn T. Quilang

They can sayAnything they want to sayTry to pull me down

But I will not allowedAnyone to succeedHanging cloud over me;

They can doAnything they want to youIf you let them in

But they won’t win If you cling to your prideAnd just push them aside;

Say I had learnedThis an ending peace I ownSomething in my soulBut they cannot possess. And I won’t be afraid To face them all with confidence in m yself

And they can tryHow to make m e feel miserableBut no m atter what fall I will refuse toTo win one I believeAll those faith in my dreamsAnd I don’t m iss one thing

Precious love are always happen for meSearchingly...That Lord will guide meWhere I need to goTry to bring me down,But I won’t face the ground

I will run suddenly,Setting all of the risks: Oh LordBecause I know there’s a light That shines brightly

They can try,But they can’t take them away from m e

It even came to a point wherein I became stubborn to that personFor one shallow reason.

Let’s say maybe I am just carried away  By the angry feeling that staysYes that person is just fulfilling his jobBut somehow makes me sob.

I found that person’s smile to be sarcastic And sometimes I speak against that personMaybe you find it unfair on his partBut can you also consider my part.?

I just found myself having that guiltThat was suddenly built. Some says it’s just normal But then again it seems it’s abnormal.

I’ve been saying things against his back For the fact that he has nothing against meThe only thing I can seeAre the mistakes rather looking into his dear purpose?

He’s been saying that he really cares But still we are not convincedWe always conclude that he wanted us to sufferThere he is ready to render his service and he won’t surrender.

Every time we meet him I commit a sinI easily got angry at himI do admit I have also a mistakeAnd it adds to the guilt.

“Maduming kalakaran sa Nayong iyon”

by: AileenJane P. Mallonga

kulay.

iyon kailan tuluyang magiging payapa? Sa nayon na

iyon kalian magiging wasto ang lahat at kailan

magbabalik ang liriko at himig. Pag-ibig san ka

naroon?

mangingibabaw. Maruming kalakaran ay

mabubuwag.
