Introduction

As part of its public diplomacy efforts, NATO regularly enters into partnerships with third parties such as NGOs, think-tanks, universities, etc, to jointly organize events or other public diplomacy activities.

In these cases, NATO and its respective partners share the ownership (and responsibility) for the event in question.

If you receive these guidelines it implies that your organization and NATO are co-owners of the project.

These guidelines therefore foresee in essence a co-branding between NATO and its respective partners.

This guide contains concrete examples that illustrate the correct usage of the NATO 60 Anniversary (60A) logo for instances where NATO engages as a co-owner.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Treatment of a NATO contribution

All material produced should be branded in a concise way combining the NATO 60A logo with the logo(s) from one or several partner(s).

Basic rules for this co-branding: • The overall rules of NATO’s visual identity guidelines, especially those of chapter 1,

The NATO logo (see Annex 1), should be respected.• The NATO 60A logo, in combination with a partner logo, must remain in the top left

corner of the information material while the visual symbol of the partner(s) should be placed in continuation. The later can therefore be displayed at the same level and in the same size as the NATO 60A logo. However, the logo(s) from the partner(s) should not be directly attached to the NATO 60A logo since this would infringe the integrity of the NATO 60A logo itself.

The logo created for NATO’s 60th anniversary in 2009 should be used consistently for all events and other activities pertaining to NATO’s Public Diplomacy campaign throughout the anniversary year. Its usage and positionning follow the same patterns as the NATO logo itself.

The following examples show the correct usage of the NATO 60A logo in combination with other logos.
