IntroductionSince 1976 Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture has hosted tens of thousands of events and curated an ever revolving rotation of artistic programming. Each year nearly 1.5 million visitors from the region and around the world come to enjoy performances, art exhibits and installations as well as educational classes and cultural offered by resident organizations.

A pioneer in military base reuse, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture has been honored by the California Preservation Foundation and the National Trust for Historic Preservation for its efforts preserving the historic U.S. Army San Francisco Port of Embarkation.

a diverse community of working artists and scholars, The SFAI Graduate Center at Pier 2 will feature 170+ artist stu-dios for MFA candidates, a student lounge, and 3,300 square feet of public-facing gallery space.

The Interval is a bar-café-museum and home to the Long Now Foundation. Named one of the best bars in Amer-ica, The Interval features an expansive not-to-be-

missed cocktail menu with inspirations from around the globe and throughout time.

BLUE BEAR SCHOOL OF MUSIC

Since 1971 Blue Bear School of Music has pro-vided superior quality and affordable popular music education to aspiring mu-sicians of all ages and skill levels within a supportive

and encouraging community. Fulfilling their mission to em-power “people to play the music they love,” the school offers private lessons, group classes, and band workshops.

CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO ART CAMPUS

City College of San Fran-cisco’s Fort Mason Art Campus offers numerous courses for students who are pursuing a degree as well as those seeking per-sonal enrichment. Both

credit and non-credit classes in ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and other art fields are offered; an Older Adults Program is also part of the curricu-lum.

BATS IMPROV

BATS Improv is the larg-est, most-awarded, and longest-running improv theater and school in Northern California. The BATS Company presents completely improvised

shows every weekend in the 200-seat Bayfront Theater, and the BATS School offers improv classes year-round for stu-dents at all levels from beginning to advanced.

READERS BOOKSTORE

Operated by the nonprof-it Friends of the San Fran-cisco Public Library, Read-ers features used and vintage books, records, posters and more. The

bookstore also hosts lectures, events, and author signings throughout the year.

Fort Mason’s latest addi-tion to the resident tenant mix boasts a wide array of beverages and a healthy lite-bite food menu. Equa-tor Coffee & Teas is the

perfect place for FMCAC visitors to relax and refresh in one of San Francisco’s most scenic environments. Opening mid-2017.
