The past edition of Saudi Elenex and Saudi Aircon

hosted 3,750 professional visitors from 8 participating

countries across 3 national pavilions occupying a

space of 6319 SQM. 105 enterprises representing a

plethora of energy and power fields took part in the

mega-event which focused on the facets of developing

renewable energy value chains and engaging in optimal

According to the Economic Research Forum, the Kingdom’s domestic

power consumption and primary energy requirements doubled in the period

between 2004 and 2014. As the nation continues to march towards new

avenues of development and economic progress, it faces the momentous

task of expanding its power generation capacity from 77GW in 2014 to

156GW in 2040.

In line with the roadmap outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, the Government is

on the path towards exploring the entrepreneurial, fiscal and technological

channels boost the localization of oil and gas sectors from %40 to %75.

With a notable natural potential for wind and solar power generation, KSA

has also set for itself an initial goal of generating 9.5 gigawatts of energy

through renewable resources while encouraging the creation of public-

private partnerships to create a competitive localized industry.

Sector ImportanceThe non-renewable and renewable energy sectors are recognized

as the backbone of the Kingdom’s economic advancement. By

championing a diversification of the energy mix, promoting

efficiency and improving industrial competitiveness, the

Government aims to stimulate the production rates within this

sector to support Saudi business and manufacturing units by

successfully meeting the mounting local demand for power.

esteemed benefaction of the Ministry of Water and Electricity,
