Central College Dutch Game Day Sidelines University of Dubuque Central College Welcome to Chalmers Field for today’s NCAA Division III football game with our visitors, the Central College Dutch, and your hometown University of Dubuque Spartans. Both teams enter today with wins on their opening Iowa Conference weekend just a week ago. The two squads both received votes in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Poll. The Spartans took back the “Key” travelling trophy last week against rival Loras in a dominating victory on Chalmers Field by a score of 41-16. UD broke the game open in the second half after being tied at the break 13-13. The Spartans outscored the Duhawks 28-3 in the final 30 minutes of action. Proceeds from the contest were donated to Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque for the 2011 Dubuque Flood Recovery Fund. The two teams played “Live” on KCRG-TV - Cedar Rapids which their first ever collegiate football game to be broadcast on the ABC affiliate and the first of four events scheduled for the Iowa Conference in 2011-12. Central used just 13 minutes last week to score four touchdowns in the second half to capture a win over Luther College by a score of 37- 9. The Spartans defense will try and slow the senior quarterback Nate Snead who is key to the Dutch offense. He leads them in passing (587 yards, six touchdowns) and in rushing (301 yards, five touchdowns). No doubt today you will hear the name Snead announced often as Jeremy Snead is their top receiver (15 catches, 215 yards and three touch- downs). The Iowa Conference encourages and promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. UD broke the game open in the second half after being tied atthe break 13-13. The Spartans outscored the Duhawks 28-3 in the final30 minutes of action. Proceeds from the contest were donated toCommunity Foundation of Greater Dubuque for the 2011 Dubuque FloodRecovery Fund. The two teams played “Live” on KCRG-TV - CedarRapids which their first ever collegiate football game to be broadcast onthe ABC affiliate and the first of four events scheduled for the IowaConference in 2011-12.

Central used just 13 minutes last week to score four touchdownsin the second half to capture a win over Luther College by a score of 37-9. The Spartans defense will try and slow the senior quarterback NateSnead who is key to the Dutch offense. He leads them in passing (587yards, six touchdowns) and in rushing (301 yards, five touchdowns). Nodoubt today you will hear the name Snead announced often as JeremySnead is their top receiver (15 catches, 215 yards and three touch-downs).

Zweifel led the Spartans in receiving last weekwith nine catches for 145 yards and two touch-downs. He started on defense for the first timein his career and finished with four tackles anda 31 yard fumble return for a third touchdownon the night. He was named IIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week . He has 354career receptions for 4,545 yards and 35 receiving touchdowns.
