Foodbank
Foodbank WA visited Room 2 and 3 on Tuesday 12th June. They discussed different food choices and how everyday foods can become superhero foods to help our bodies grow strong and healthy. We were able to cook a whole range of yummy foods and have a picnic to share afterwards.

Dear parents and caregivers,
National School Opinion Survey In the last newsletter a link was sent home for the National School Opinion Survey that needs to be conducted every two years with families / staff and Year 5 and 6 students. The survey will take only about 10 minutes and I would love feedback from as many in the Bramfield Park PS community as possible. To access the survey please click on the link: https://www.schoolsurvey.edu.au/s/WnuamTne. If you are unable to access the survey at home, there will
be an opportunity to access it online at
the Reporting to Parents’ meetings next
week. Chromebooks will be available in
the office with access to the link for
families to complete the survey while
they are at school. Any questions, please
don’t hesitate to pop into the Office.
Reporting to Parents’ Interviews Next Tuesday the 26th June, the school will close at
11.40am. All students will need to be picked up at this time
to allow teaching staff the opportunity to conduct
interviews for semester one reports. A note was sent home
last week for families to select a time for the interview. We
understand parents work, but a phone interview can be
scheduled so you still have the opportunity to discuss your
child’s report with their teacher. When attending the
interview your child must come with you. The interview
time will be 20 minutes. The first 10 minutes will be the
time you sit outside your child’s class and read the report
and the next 10 minutes will be when you meet with the
teacher to discuss the report and how your child is going in
class. We always have a fabulous response to our reporting
interviews and I look forward to seeing you all here to share
this aspect of your child’s learning at Bramfield Park.
Winter Carnival Good luck to our hockey, soccer and two netball teams who
will be attending the Winter Carnival on Thursday. Teams
will play in a round robin tournament format with games
scheduled throughout the day. Presentations are held at
the completion of the games with students due to return to
school before the afternoon siren. Unfortunately the
preliminary forecast looks like the carnival weather will live
up to its wintry name so please ensure a change of clothes,
raincoats, umbrellas are packed for the day. Students will
also need to take all their food and drinks as there are no
canteens. Thank you to Mr Huston, Mr Lake, Ms Bailey and
Ms Sneddon for taking our teams.
Book Fair What a fantastic Book Fair we had in our school last week.
It was wonderful to see so many families and students
selecting new books and discovering the joy of reading. As
a result the Library was able to choose nearly $500 worth of
new books which will be on our Library shelves next term!
Thank you so much to the members of the P & C for
organising and running this event. Students will have lots
of opportunities to read their new books as the Library will
be closed for borrowing over the next two weeks while Ms
Ashman completes a stocktake. If your
child runs out of books there is the
Kenwick Library, close by on Kenwick
Road, that members of the public can
use.
Thought... “The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as long as we live.” – Mortimer Adler
The more you put yourself out there, getting out of your
comfort zone and expanding your horizons, the more your
mind gets stronger over time! Remember this when
reading your (or your child’s) report next week.

Hello everyone. Week 8 is upon us and that means the Winter carnival is finally here! After training hard the whole term the soccer, netball (2) and hockey teams are anxious to get out there and play real games. The soccer and hockey competitions will be held at Sutherland Park on Thursday, 21 June, with the first games scheduled to start between 9:30am-10:00am. The netball competition will be at Langford Netball Centre on the same day, with the first games starting at 10:00am. It looks like it may be a bit wet so hopefully we can get through the day without too much drama. Also, if there are any parents out there who can umpire netball and would be willing to volunteer to umpire a few games it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact myself or the school front office if you are interested. Good luck to all participants and I am sure you will make Bramfield proud of your efforts, behaviour and achievement! Finally, our school Cross Country Carnival will be held next Thursday morning, the 28th of June. The races will start around 9:00 and should finish up by 12 noon. Years 1-6 will participate, with the girls and boys running separately in each year level. The students have put in a lot of hard work to prepare and we should see some good results from each year level. Keep on running!
Sincerely,
Kelly Huston PE Coordinator
