What is it all about?

We are here to discuss how difficult it is for people living under poverty to access basic needs such as food and see the numbers and figures of the poverty levels in the Philippines

But first an activity! What: Budgeting of the poor Where: Fortunes Mart Budget: 100 pesos per group (4 people/group) Duration: 30 minutes Task: Using limited resources purchase food or ingredients for your “family” to have a good and healthy meal. Be practical

Insights What did you feel during the activity? What were the difficulties encountered during the activity? How does it feel to be in their shoes? Realizations?

SWOT Analysis Strengths: ●  Effective way to make people understand the

situation of the poor ●  More entertaining

Weaknesses: ●  A certain amount of money is needed for it to

be conducted properly ●  not only is the effort enough on its own, but

extra expenses have to be made to complete it.

Opportunities: ●  This activity can be used in any country

where their educational system wishes to immerse its students to poverty

●  Realization and lessons seen

Threats: ●  Could be harder to try out with a bigger

group ●  misunderstanding between different cultures
