In the music video, ‘The Pretender’ by Foo Fighters, camerawork is used to portray the musical genre of Rock. The use of the close ups of the different band members is used to equally promote all the band members. This is important as unlike pop music videos where the all the attention is on the artist, Rock groups always consist of 3 or more band members. Therefore they when making the music video, they cannot focus the shots on just one person in the band as all of them play a key part in producing the bands music. By showing shots of all the band members, its promotes all the band members work and performance.

As the police are preparing to ‘fight’ when pulling down their visors and holding up their shields creates a rebellious connotation to the band and to the genre of rock. This could also give off a negative vibe to the video as normally when riot police are called to somewhere, it means there is either a lot of trouble or danger.
