This was a pitch to a start up company looking to open a vintage style restaurant. Having decided the bowler hat and vintage illustrations were ideal elements to represent the brand, I used these throughout. Business cards and letterheads would be their main form of correspondance so branding on these elements was key.

Page 3: FOLIO

Marketing material and advertising focussed on service and the vintage style at the restaurant. They had a clear target audience in mind and market research had shown there was a gap in that market. ‘Vintage’ is currently used across many different forms of design including fashion, and they obviously wanted to use the current trend to help market their business. This USP works perfectly in the context of a fine dining experience.

Website concepts were strongly based around the vintage branding. The I-Dent was strong enough to occupy the homepage, and when this is the case, it gives the confident impression of ‘high end’.

This bi-monthly magazine I designed during my time at Coast Creative. I had to stay consistent with the brand while also finding ways to be innovative.

I was in sole charge of Business Networx during my time at Team Valley Publications. The magazine has an estimated readership of 20,000 and is massively respected in the area. It has given me my most valued experience of editorial design.

Alongside being responsible for layout from cover to cover, I designed ads for clients who previosly had no artwork. This ad for United Carlton among others. Copy for the editorial was largely supplied by the contributors. Although often around deadline time , if we were struggling for content or it hadn’t been supplied, I would also source the editorial.

Holdaway Heating and Plumbing is a small to medium sized company that I have fully branded. Letterheads, businesscards and van wrapping were all included in the re-brand. Website concepts focus on the brand colour pallette and a user friendly interface.

Branding myself is vital. I am an illustrative designer and I want this to come through in everything I show to potential client.

This is an info-guide aimed towards traineees in the plumbing industry. The aim was to provide an easy to follow step-by-step set of instructions that would appeal to novices and beyond.

I needed to convert very basic hand rendered sketches provided from the client into clear and user friendly digital diagrams.

Various adverts I have designed for a range of small /medium sized businesses.

This was a leaflet aimed at the staff taking part in upcoming store launches. The purpose was to build excitement among the staff for them to buy into the event. Also to promote the packages available to the store to celebrate on the day

This is a re-visited A4 version of the earlier A5 brochure with extra info and imagery which the client decided to pre-sent in an A4 folder. The idea was that this was a more detailed document as part of a text book.

Page 17: FOLIO

The info was largely similar with a few added elements, but the layout moved from a succinct punchy instruction leaflet to a more compehensive document.

An example of the beers, wines and spirits section of Costcutters Connect magazine. Accuracy and attention to detail was vital when dealing with hundreds of products, barcodes and offer data.

Ads receievd from external agencies was often the wrong dimensions, therefore careful editing of the artwork was often required.
