Implement an e-Commerce playbook
What’s next?
22
• Secure additional Latin American freighter capacity
• Build perishable trade lanes
• Convince major perishable buyer (e.g., Kroger, HEB, Whole Foods) to consolidate time-sensitive product shipments in DFW instead of coastal gateways
• Increase focus on key Mexican commodity flows
• Pursue e-commerce opportunities
• Master cargo infrastructure plan to set DFW up for the future

Opportunity: Cold Chain
Background: air cargo’s cold chain solutions provide real value; pharma shipments have good margins and are expected to grow; perishables traffic grows as incomes rise, and is always looking for faster routings
Question: What can an air cargo community do to advance the cold chain business?
Opportunity: E-comm
Background: Amazon reset consumer expectations, forcing all retailers, including e-tailers and brick-and-mortar, to accelerate their supply chains
Question: Setting aside Amazon (who can take care of itself), what can an air cargo community do to serve retailers who are aiming to expedite their supply chain?
Trend: Real-time Tracking
Background: air cargo increasingly moves commodities that need tracking; new technologies enable new data: shocks, ambient temperature, light exposure; we expect more based on our personal experience with Uber/Lyft, FlightStats, etc.
Question: What can an air cargo community do to advance real-time tracking?
Trend: Labor Costs
Background: employee turnover in trucking and on-airport warehouses has increased; either wages must go up or service failures will occur
Question: How can an air cargo community react?
Panel Discussion: A more detailed look at the new opportunities being embraced and the emerging trends impacting air cargo
