Rosanne’s vision of affordable healthcare being

available to all underserved Houstonians is

gradually coming to fruition. While serving

residents in southeast Houston, CHRISTUS

St. Mary’s is also serving as the hub of the

Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative program,

which leverages synergies among three vital

CHRISTUS ministries - CHRISTUS St.

Mary’s Clinic, CHRISTUS School Based

Clinics, and the CHRISTUS Healthy Living

Mobile Clinic. Patients seen by the Mobile

and School Based Clinics can be referred to

St. Mary’s for further care, while conversely,

patients initially treated at St. Mary’s can be

monitored closer to their homes and schools

by professionals of the Mobile and School

Based Clinics. Together these three ministries

will build on each other’s strengths for more

comprehensive patient care and provide a

model for care that can one day be utilized

throughout Greater Houston.

the Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative, visit

On October 22nd, CHRISTUS St. Catherine

held its 3rd Annual Celebrate Your Princess

Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. More than

600 princes and princesses were in attendance,

contributing $25,000 to the cause. October

also marked the first ever Support The

Girls Ladies Luncheon at the Weston Lakes

Country Club, organized by volunteers,

community leaders and educators in the

Greater Katy area. Contributions from both

events brought in more than $40,000 to

benefit the CHRISTUS St. Catherine Breast

Cancer Awareness Fund.

CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread provides

nutritious meals, clothing, hygienic necessities

and a structured recovery program for the

homeless in Galveston as well as literacy classes

for adults in the community.

Every year, Our Daily Bread volunteers serve

more than 27,000 hot, nutritious meals to

Galveston’s homeless ranging in age from

the very young to the elderly. By providing

these vital services, and many others, we work

to restore hope and direction to the lives of

women and men.

CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital celebrated Princesses of all ages at the 3rd Annual Celebrate Your Princess Walk in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

While upholding the dignity of each person, staff members give guidance and structure to help break the cycle of homelessness.

• 1,548 clients participated in chemical

dependence and addiction counseling.

• 14,000 clients received daytime shelter

from the streets and weather elements.

• 1,619 individuals were provided with

private counseling sessions such as New

Beginnings – a new program devoted to

helping those who are homeless due to

drug or alcohol addiction.

St. Mary’s Clinic

SCHOOL

CHRISTUS St. Mary’s Clinic will serve as a primary care center for a neighborhood in need. Many of its patients will be referred by the CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinic and School Based Clinics.

CHRISTUS School Based Clinics are located in numerous schools, most near CHRISTUS St. Mary’s Clinic. Students with conditions such as diabetes or asthma may be referred to St. Mary’s.

CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinic helps patients, often the elderly, monitor chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. On an annual basis, it serves more than 20,000 people in need.

The Mobile Clinic makes repeat visits to underserved neighborhoods every few months. To increase this caregiving capacity, a second Mobile Clinic will soon hit the streets. Both vehicles can deliver regular follow-up care to CHRISTUS St. Mary’s patients.
