Renewal Time!! P A G E 5 O C T O B E R 2 0 1 2
Just because chapter dues have been waived for all CLSA state association members, doesn’t mean we don’t
need you to fill out those membership application forms. The number of Directors the Chapter sends to the
CLSA Board of Directors meeting is based on the number of professional land surveyors who are state CLSA
members, and declare Sacramento as their home Chapter. Please join the Sacramento Chapter and show
your support for the ways in which we support the profession. Be sure your state dues are current!
If your name is not on the list below, please fill out a membership form and send it to Rob McMillan,
([email protected]) as soon as possible. A copy of the form is on page 13.

Fassett Twins Arrive
From Chris Shepherd:
Hello everyone… Please be on the lookout. My TDS ranger (serial #SS54C13508) was stolen out of my house last Wednesday September 26th, plus a lot more, in the bankrupt town of Stockton. They left a pile of stuff in my entry way that they must not have been able to carry. One of them was my total station. Thank God they didn’t take that.
If you hear of or see any for sale Please let me know.
On a side note, my neighbor has film of the perpetrators driving their Hon-da accord into my garage. SPD has the plate and is looking for the owner. I bet most of my items have already been hawked pond or sold by now.
Contact me if you hear of anything.

The September Sacramento CLSA Chapter meeting was our best attended event this year. Those present enjoyed delicious pizza, cold beverages, and discussions with CLSA Chapter members and our local vendors. Thanks again to our vendors who provided equipment for us to handle, swag for the raffle, and contributed pitchers of beverages to sooth our parched throats. If you missed it, be sure to attend next year. On the business front, the Chapter has ordered a new laptop through the Dell commercial sales group and Cardno. Those members present elected our slate of Chapter Officers for 2013: President: Paul Carlson Vice-President: Rob McMillan Secretary: Jerry Jones Treasurer: Matt Stringer CLSA Directors: New term: Jerry Jones, Annette Lockhart Continuing term: Jill Van Houten, and Ian Wilson VP Report - Paul Carlson October Meeting: November Meeting: December Meeting: Blue Prynt Restaurant - Chapter Holiday Party - RSVP: [email protected] We are always looking for feedback and venue suggestions for future meetings. Let Paul know if you are pleased with food, venue, etc. Paul is also looking for speakers. If anyone wants to speak or has a topic, let Paul know. [email protected] Secretary's report Renewal memberships are still trickling in. Please submit Chapter membership forms and encourage others to join at both the State and Chapter levels. Be sure you are current with State CLSA dues! We fell short of our goal of 100 PLS members, but there is always next year! (It’s football season - I’m a Chargers fan) Let’s get to over 100 PLS members in 2013! Committee Reports No Sacramento Chapter membership dues this year for State CLSA members! Get people you know to join at both the state and Chapter levels! 50-50 Drawing Paul Carlson’s raffle ticket was chosen again for the 50/50 drawing, but his grand nephew did not draw the Joker! The total is now incredibly large. Suffice to say a 1099 form will be involved, and you won’t mind a bit. You could be the next to draw a card.
What the heck is a Double Diamond? What does it mean to REALLY step up and support the profession and the higher education of our future Land Surveyors? Many surveyors, including one of our Sustaining Members, showed us: http://www.californiasurveyors.org/endowement.html Way to go! Total fund as of September 25th: $79,805
