System Overview

Part Description

1 Bellows

2 Platform

3 Main Duct for Heat, Smoke, and CO

4 TESTIFIRE Smoke Capsule FME‑TS3

5 TESTIFIRE CO Capsule FME‑TC3

Functions

Before starting the detector test, the Battery Baton mustbe inserted into the TESTIFIRE handle. Also, the capsulescontaining the test stimuli must be inserted into theTESTIFIRE head unit. For ease in testing large detectors, the interior transparent cup can be removed from thehead unit for correct placement of the detector in thehead unit.

You can control the functionality via the menus in the userinterface display. For example, use the display to programthe order in which the test stimuli are created - eitherindividually or in any combination.

The test or test series programmed can be started as soonas the infrared barrier in the head unit is interrupted bythe correct placement of the test device on the detector.Accompanying optical and optional acoustic signals giveinformation about the test. After testing, the test toolreturns to stand-by mode as soon as the head unit isremoved from the detector thereby terminating theinterruption of the infrared barrier.

The TESTIFIRE test tool can be used in different modes:

a) Individual or serial tests (a single test stimulus is usedat a time – either singularly or sequentially)

b) Simultaneous tests (all stimuli are used at the sametime)

c) Combined tests (stimuli can be used in differentcombinations of simultaneous and serial tests)

The current fill level of the capsule used can be displayedin the user interface display.

If a test lasts longer than 2 minutes, TESTIFIRE turns offautomatically. The tool switches into stand-by mode assoon as it is removed and the infrared barrier is restored.

If the tool is in stand-by mode for longer than 5 minutes, itturns off to save battery power.

Using TESTIFIRE above Head HeightFor using TESTIFIRE above head height, use the SOLO100 telescope pole and the SOLO 101 extension poles. These allow you to cover access heights of up to 9 m.

Optional Infrared Remote ControlYou can access the user interface display with the remotecontrol without having to lower the tool to the ground.Remote control operation is especially recommendedwhen running tests at greater heights, or if each test is tobe selected manually. (The test starts automatically assoon as the infrared barrier is interrupted.)

Installation/Configuration Notes

• During CO-testing very small amounts of odorlesscarbon monoxide gas are emitted. Under normaloperating conditions these emissions are harmless.

Warning Do not breathe in the gas directly at the ductoutlet during the CO test and up to 5 minutesafterwards.

• This product contains hot surfaces and hot air is alsoemitted from the duct outlet.

Warning Do not touch the tip of the CO capsule whenit has been removed if the unit has been inoperation within the previous 5 minutes.

• Batteries should be charged with the Fast BatteryCharger SOLO 725. The charger can be connected toa 230 V power outlet or to a 12 volt vehicle accessorysocket.

• Smoke and CO capsules are not refillable. Emptycapsules may be returned to the manufacturer forenvironmentally friendly disposal via the reseller tocomply with WEEE (Waste Electrical & ElectronicEquipment) Regulations 2006.

• Use only genuine TESTIFIRE accessories andreplacement parts.
