Chapter of Family Motor Coach Association

(FMCA)

FMCA's Northwest Regional was our Second Rally of 2015 and was held June 25th thru June 28th at the Mill Casino in Coos Bay, Oregon. Rim Rock Roamer members in attendance included Peter & Debbie Ribble, Roger & Denise Emery, Bob & Jane Marjama, Chuck & Jackie Martin, Tom & Carolyn Russell, Jerry & Jinny Andres, Dick & Lorene Lehrer and former members Jim & Pat Bushling. Although Shoshana and I were unable to attend, all reports

May 2015

indicate that it was a great event with good food, seminars, entertainment and comaraderie.

Thanks to Peter Ribble and Denise Emery for submitting the following photos:

We are just over a week away from our next rally at the Old Stone Village Rv Park in Mcminnville, Oregon. Shoshana and I are eagerly anticipating seeing old friends again as well as visiting the Air Museum, wineries and the chance to revisit, after a 20 year hiatus, one of John's favorite spots... the Brigittine Monks Monestary located in the hills near Amity. No... It's not a religious thing, but the fudge made here is indeed heavenly!

On the subject of future rallies this year, Peter Ribble reports that the rally in Baker City, Oregon on August 26th thru the 29th now has 17 coaches attending, but of these only 5 are Rim Rock Roamers. This promises to be a fun gathering with 10 coaches from the Snake River Valley FMCA chapter as well as 2 coaches from the NW area FMCA board. It is an easy segway to extend the Roamers rally in Prosser, Wa. And include this rally. Several of us are planning to spend a couple of days after Prosser in Richland, Wa. in route to Baker City. I encourage you to revisit your calendar and consider joining us. For more information on our schedule or to reserve your spot in Baker City contact Peter Ribble at [email protected] or give him a call at 541-389-4933.

Remaining Rallies this year:

➢ Mcminnville, OR. July 22-25...wine country activities, Evergreen Air and Space Museum and Waterpark, golf, antiquing.

➢ Prosser, WA. August 19-22... Washington wine country activities, visit wineries and tasting rooms, golf, shopping.

➢ Baker City, OR. August 26-29...visit the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Baker Heritage Museum, ride on the historic Sumpter Valley Railway, share stories and companionship with members of two other FMCA chapters.

➢ Mt. Angel, OR. Sept. 17-20... enjoy a traditional Biergarten, evening street dances, over 50 Alpine food chalets with a variety of ethnic foods, arts and crafts show, listen to an Old-World Glockenspiel play.

There truly is something for everyone at our 2015 rallies not to mention the time spent visiting with old friends and making new friends with a common interest in RVing.

One important change from years past is that if you are planning to attend a rally, you will need to make your own reservation indicating that you are with the Rim Rock Roamers. Please let Kathy Butler know ([email protected]), so updates and specific rally info can be sent to you. Reservations for Oktoberfest in Mt Angel only must be made with Kathy Butler. Cost is approximately $20 for the Thursday - Sunday event and she will take care of reserving a spot for you. Reservations for Baker City only are being handled by Peter Ribble ([email protected])

Please consider hosting a rally. Hosts will be needed for McMinnville and Prosser. All have indoor facilities for our use. Costs ($10.00 per person) for rallies other than your reservation will be based on whether a member or members volunteer to host. Hosts plan activities, meals (some cooked by the hosts) as well as potlucks by members, a meal out, field trips, etc. If you are interested in hosting or would like more information contact Kathy Butler.
