Extensive vertical reach allows the robot to access virtually any microplate instrument including stacked instruments, and its telescoping arm can reach a variety of distances. The ingenious arm travels right through the base, resulting in the most rapid and effi cient movements. The Orbitor RS has a full 360° workspace with unlimited base rotation; this eliminates the need for hard stops and reverse movements. Flexible storageThe Orbitor RS has storage for all SBS plate types including deep well plates, racks, and tip boxes, and it works with both lidded and unlidded plates. Random or sequential access combined with a variety of storage options delivers maximum fl exibility. The Orbitor RS comes complete with integrated storage for 72 plates, and its adaptable design expands to accommodate up to 360 plates.

The Orbitor solution is controlled and monitored with the Thermo Scientifi c Momentum™ scheduling and workfl ow software. Momentum is the top-layer software that communicates and controls your fl ow cytometer as well as the Orbitor. Momentum lets users defi ne, execute, and monitor complex processes in a powerful yet easy-to-use visual environment. The software offers a simulation mode and accelerated simulation to test your processes in advance. Keep your science moving with remote monitoring for unattended modes.

Ease of use Novice automation users appreciate the number of safety features integrated into the Orbitor. The arm of the mover has been designed with an overhead gripper. Overhead grippers naturally avoid the dangers of protruding off-set fi ngers supplied with other movers. With Force Control, the Orbitor will stop with the slightest contact. And plate detection in the gripper, minimizes the hassles of dropped and spoiled samples. Orbitor’s quiet operation cuts down on the noise pollution generated by a wide variety of other products available. Orbitor is one of the most fl exible movers on the market. Users often invest in the Orbitor for single instrument loading, and later request additional instrumentation and integration. Orbitor solutions can easily be upgraded in the fi eld, either with multiple devices for operation pooling, or with sample preparation instrumentation. There’s also a wide selection of storage options, from random access and stacked storage to storage carousels. Orbitor solutions also integrate barcode scanning for easy sample tracking, or to trigger specifi c processes.
