Case Management –
Though not as exciting as a multi-stage surveillance
that uses all your skills and gadgets, the business of
running your business is the stuff that will keep
you ... well... in business. In this presentation, par-
ticipants will revisit one of the foundational areas
of our profession; Case Management. Here we'll
cover setting up a case file, creating a case num-
ber, tracking your billable hours, and keeping your-
self organized, all without the need for expensive
software."- P. Purcell
Investigating Terrorism –
DHS has long known that the private sector is as
likely (if not more) to run across terrorists as would
any sworn law enforcement officer. Have you ever
run across a suspected terrorist? Do you know
what to look for? Do you know the ways in which
you might meet one? Do you know how to report
your findings so you'll be heard? In short, do you
know just how valuable you are as a private detec-
tive to our war on terror? P. Purcell

Cybersecurity 101 –
Computers Don't Commit Crimes - People Commit
Cybercrime. They say crime knows no zip code. It
could also be said that it knows no IP address. Inci-
dents of cybercrimes continue to increase and
more and more individuals and organizations are
being affected by it. The worst part is that studies
show that the odds are greater that the crime will
be performed by an insider to your network that
from someone trying to break into your network
from the outside. What is cybersecurity, what are
the laws that govern it and what can you do to
mitigate the odds of you or your client from being
the next victim? M. Barker
