The views from the apartment and its roof deck are wonderful and the apartment itself had all the conveniences necessary for a delightful stay. It’s diffi-cult to describe how beautiful the place is, but rest assured that if you are loo-king for a clean, modern and spacious apartment in Florence, you’ve found it.I rented the Appartamento San Giovanni in March 2011 for my family which in-cluded my sister, my niece and my parents, and stayed for 8 nights. The five of us loved staying there and each day grew to see the apartment as our “home” and hated to leave! My parents are in their mid-70s, so the elevator (lift) was especially welcome.

We liked being in the center of town, but high enough up so that noise wasn’t a problem. Once we located the Santa Maria Novella market (about a 5 minute walk), we were able to bring back all kinds of food to cook, pastry to eat and wine to drink in the eat-in kitchen. Generally, we ate breakfast and dinner in the apartment and only ate lunch out at restaurants.

It was everything we had hoped for and more, including very comfortable beds and nice bathrooms, along with a washer and dryer. The only negative is that like most places in Italy, the hot water tanks are small, so shower times need to be adjusted. We learned that by turning off the shower, soaping up and then turning the water back on, there was enough hot water to go around.We would definitely stay at the Appartamento San Giovanni the next time we We would definitely stay at the Appartamento San Giovanni the next time we visit Florence. The interior of Duomo Apartment where we were staying was very beautiful and designed by the landlord with love and great taste. La vista che si gode dal terrazzo lascia senza fiato. L'accoglienza è stata calorosissi-ma: ci è sembrato di essere ospiti di vecchi amici di famiglia. Ogni minimo parti-colare è stato pensato e curato per rendere il nostro soggiorno davvero indimen-ticabile. Ci siamo sentiti a casa nostra in ogni momento, e abbiamo potuto vivere l'incantevole bellezza di Firenze dall'interno del suo stesso cuore. Grazie! Torneremo senz'altro. Carry on walking and after every corner you will find something more pretty than the last and it is only on the Piazza del Duomo do you see some of the finest sights. L'appartamento Santa Maria is perfectly located for some of these views and sounds. The flat is a de-light with its beautiful decor and ample size. You will feel like royalty when you stay here. You are bathed in the stain glass sunlight in the morning as you stare at the delicately crafted ceilings. With access to the best terrace in the city l'ap-partamento Santa Maria is almost certainly the best place to stay and we will be going back as soon as we can".
