The Kurta is a traditional garment worn in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal

and Sri Lanka. It is tailored as a loose shirt falling either just above or somewhere below the

knees of the wearer, and it is worn by both men and women. The cut of the Kurta is usually

simple although the design of the fabric can be quite elaborate. The Kurta carpet design

shows a mixture of various patterns which are loosely laid next to and on top of each other.

Looking at the carpet, your eyes travel from one layer of pattern to the other, allowing you

to go into depth with the surface, but never being fi xed on one path.
