Lifesaver Schools is a campaign aimed at getting children between the ages of 6-12 to prepared for

disasters. The current campaign is preparing them for f oods by giving the kids swim training in a fun yet

educational manner.

rules of water safety from lesson gamesTHE RULES OF WATER SAFETY DURING A FLOOD:

1. If in the water, find a floatation device.

2. Keep head and mouth above water at all times.

3. Try and direct yourself towards the edges of the

water body without getting tired.

4. If out of water, stay away if possible.

5. If someone needs help, find something they can

grab onto and pull them to safety, do NOT enter the water.

6. Check safety of the water before going anywhere it

(only if you need too).

Survival in action:

In teams of four, do all survival tasks such as staying at edges of pool , finding a floatation device while in water, staying afloat on back, pulling teammate out of water in a safe manner (with stick, floatation device, rope and without getting in the water). Done in the way of a relay race.

Water Safety:Kids have to check the water for dangers before entering. They wont be able to get into the water until they have identified all the hazards and mentioned them to the supervisers. Each hazard will be fake and made of foam.

For example:Indoor: electrical Socket, Appliances. chemicalsOutdoor: Rocks, Currents.

Survivor:The kids will all join in together for this game. They will each take it in turns to be ‘it’ (the teamleader) All the kids will have to do swimming actions to avoid the hazards that ‘it’ will shout out.Once they all get to the other end of the pool theyshout “ I’m a survivor!” Can be done in theform of a race to make it more fun.
