YOUNG WOMAN #1 – ELLIE HUGHUES

YOUNG WOMAN #2 – GRACE EGGLESTON

YOUNG MAN – RICHARD BOLTER

ALL BLACK.

CHOPPING SOUNDS.

WITH EVERY CHOP, A NAME FROM THE CREDITS APPEARS, REMOVED WITH

ANOTHER CHOP.

AFTER ALL CREDITS HAVE ROLLED, A SHOT OF RUNNING FOOTSTEPS IS SHOWN

WITH A MONOCHROMATIC FILTER. CHOPPING SOUND ENDS AND THE SOUND OF

HEAVY BREATHING AND THE FOOTSTEPS CAN BE HEARD. CUTS BACK TO THE

CHOPPING SOUNDS. THIS ACTION REPEATS ITSELF, EVERYTIME A DIFFERENT

ANGLE OR LOCATION OF THE RUNNING FOOTSTEPS. LAST SHOT FROM THIS

SEQUENCE SHOWS YOUNG WOMAN #1 IN AN ESTABLIGHING SHOT RUNNING ON THE

FIELD. GRASS/PLANTS FROM THE FIELD SHOULD BE IN THE FOREGROUND OF

THE SHOT WITH YOUNG WOMAN #1 IN THE NEGATIVE SPACE. DIAGETIC SOUND

MUST BE HEARD IN THIS SHOT, NOT OF FOOTSTEPS BUT OF THE RUSTLING

GRASS.

A CHOPPING SOUND CUTS TO YOUNG WOMAN #2 LAYING ON THE GROUND. SHE IS

LAYING ON HER BACK ON THE FIELD. THE CAMERA IS SLOWLY REVOLVING ON

HER FACE AND UPPER TORSO, SLOWLY ZOOMING OUT FROM HER EYES.THE

CAMERA SHOULD BECOME STILL. YOUNG WOMAN #2 SHOULD BE HEARD TO HAVE

HEAVY BREATHING AND STARING AT THE SKY.

SOUND OF SLICING KNIVES. CUTS TO YOUNG WOMAN #2 FROM THE SIDE, CLOSE

UP OF HER EYES, LOOKING UP PAST THE CAMERA. THE ECHO OF THE SLICING

KNIFES RINGS LOUDER NOW.

WHILST THE ECHO IS GETTING LOUDER, CUT TO YOUNG MAN CROUCHING ON THE

FIELD, SLOWLY TURNING HIS HEAD TOWARDS THE CAMERA TO REVEAL A

GOREISH WOUND TO HIS FOREHEAD. THE SOUND OF A BELL TOLLS AND THE

‘CONSTANT CUT’ SEQUENCE BEGINS. YOUNG WOMAN #1 CUTS IN AND OUT,

KNEELING IN A DARK CORNER, HAND COVERING HER FACE. AS THE SEQENCE

BEGINS, SHE IS SHOWN TO BE LOWERING HER HANDS. YOUNG MAN SHOTS CAN

BE REVERSED BY SHOWING THE SHOT THE OPPOSITE WAY ROUND, OR BY

REVERSING HIS ACTIONS SO THAT HE IS NOW LOOKING AWAY. ANOTHER SHOT

IS SLOTTED IN, WITH MID SHOT OF YOUNG WOMAN #2 LOOKING DIRECTLY INTO

CAMERA.

THE ECHO FO THE BELL SEEMS TO HAVE QUIETENED DOWN, SO THE SEQUENCE

HAS SLOWED TO A NEAR STOP. THE SHOT OF YOUNG WOMAN #1 LOWERING HER

HAND CONTINUES ON INSTEAD OF CUTTING BACK TO OTHER SHOTS. WHEN HER

HANDS ARE FINALLY LOWERED, A SHADOW FALLS ON HER FACE AND SHE

SUDDENLY LOOKS UP.

THE BELL TOLLS AGAINS, LOUDER THIS TIME. THE ‘CONSTANT CUT’ SEQUENCE

BEGINS AGAIN, THIS TIME FASTER. ALL THE SHOTS FROMS BEFORE THI TIME

WITH YOUNG WOMAN #1 RUNNING DOWN THE GINNEL WITH THE CURVE OF THE

HILL DISAPEARING INTO THE BACKGROUND. ANOTHER BELL TOLL AND THE

SEQUENCE SPEEDS UP AGAIN. ANOTHER SHOT OF YOUNG MAN FACE, IN SLOW

MOTION RUNNING AND LOOKING BEHIND HIM, SCARED. THE FINAL SHOT TO BE

PLACED IS A MIRRORED SHOT OF YOUNG WOMAN #2 STUMBLING TO HER KNEES,

AND SLOWLY DISSAPEARING INTO THE MIDDLE OF SCREEN. CHOPPING SOUND

RESUMES AND CUTS TO BLACK. SOUNDS CAN BE HEARD FOR SECONDS, THEN

CUTS TO AN AXE COMING DOWN ON A BLOODIED WEDGE OF WOOD. CUTS TO

BLACK. TITLE.
