Derrick Equipment now offers the FLC 500 Series Upgrade Kit, a simple retrofit designto fit Derrick’s full line of Flo-Line® Cleaner, FLC Plus and FLC 2000 shakers. The FLC500 Upgrade Kit features a patented single-side tensioning system which shortens screenpanel replacement time to less than one minute per panel. This upgrade to high G’s (7.0)simplifies the maintenance of Derrick 3-panel shakers making it quicker, easier and saferto change screens. FLC 500 Upgrade Kit Features

Single-Side Tensioning SystemThe patented single-side tensioning system shortensscreen panel replacement time to less than one minute perpanel. A typical screen panel change requires a one-halfturn of two Quick-Lok nut assemblies to relax the under-side tensioning fingers. This system provides reliable andconsistent panel tensioning throughout the life of themachine.

Pyramid Screen TechnologyThe FLC 500 Upgrade Kit enables the use of Derrick’sfull line of patented 3-dimensional Pyramid™ Screens.Field tests have shown that the combination of Super Gmotors and Pyramid screens have increased shale shakercapacity by over 150%. Rigs can also screen finer earlierin the drilling process, thus significantly reducing mudand disposal costs. As with the Derrick flat, PWP™ screenseries, the Pyramid screens are capable of making separationsas fine as 43 microns. When fitted with Derrick’sPyramid screens, the FLC 500 Upgrade Kit has thefollowing area available for screening per API RP 13 E:24.9 sq. ft. with the Pyramid screenand 35.7 sq. ft. with thePyramid Plus.

Super G™ Vibrating MotorsSuper G motors are built with Derrick’s superior electrics,which are renowned in the industry for durability. Aunique “greased-for-life” bearing system eliminates theneed for a remote lubrication system. This reduces costsfor repair and eases maintenance. These new bearings alsoenable shakers to be run at significantly lower decibellevels. Sound output from the motors has been measuredat 81 dBA. While conventional Derrick shakers operatedin the 4 to 5 G-force range, the Super G motors producean amazing 7.0 G’s. The higher G-force produced by theSuper G™ motors has proven to dramatically increaseliquid/solids separation due to superior conveyancecharacteristics. Field testing has shown that the FLC 500Upgrade Kit have processed in excess of 560 GPM with a17.8 PPG mud over 175 mesh Pyramid™ screens.

FLC 500 Series Screen FrameDerrick’s newly engineered screen frame is designed tomaintain structural integrity at higher G’s. The vibratingdeck design ensures that the higher G force produced bythe Super G motors is transmitted directly to the screensurface, thus optimizing solids conveyance and providinghigher capacity. Stainless steel components combinedwith epoxy coated components ensures maximumcorrosion resistance.

STEP 1:

Remove and discard the verticalsupport and gusset from theright-hand side of the FLC 2000support structure.

If base brackets for the AWDmechanism were not removedduring preparation of the supportstructure, on both the left andright side, remove “old” stylebrackets and replace with “new”style brackets as shown.

Quick and Easy InstallationInstalling the FLC 500 Upgrade Kit on the FLC 2000 3-panel shaker requires minimal modification to the supportstructure (see Steps 1-3 below). The existing flow line, back tank, screen underflow sump, discharge piping, andcuttings discharge trough do NOT need not be altered. This allows for an easy upgrade to higher G’s with minimaldown time.
