My life started before your mommiesand daddies were born in 1964…when aman named Jeff Brown wrote a bookcalled Flat Stanley.

He tells in the book how a bigblackboard fell on me and squashed me!That’s how I got to be so flat.

This is me, Flat Stanley

I was sad at first, but soondiscovered that I could easilytravel the world. All I had todo…is fold up inside anenvelope, just like a letter, andfly in the mail to any place Iwanted to visit.

In March, 2008, Jadia Westbrook folded me up and sent me on a “mini” vacation to her Gammy’s house in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Anyway…. back to my vacation in Dallas, TX

The name Texas comes from an Indian name that means friends.

Where in the world is Texas?

Did you know…

that Texas is called the Lone Star State?

our state flower is the bluebonnet?

our state mammal is the longhorn?

Yep, I’m smart

Journal Entry

Gammy had lunch waiting for me when I arrived. Boy, that was the best sandwich in the world. I was hungry. I even got a cookie for dessert…well sort of.

Dear journal, FINALLY, I arrived at Jade’s Gammy’s house. As soon as she opened the envelope, I jumped out and gave her a big hug. ( I think I scared her) I didn’t mean to. I was just happy to get out of that stuffy envelope!

I met Jenny. That’s Gammy’s dog. She’s a Dalmatian. She’s 11 years old.

Did you know…

Dalmatian puppies are born pure white, and don’t start getting their spots until they are a few weeks old? How many is a few?

Dalmatians are very smart and will become very sad if they are not allowed to be around their family on a regular basis.

I’m so excited !!! Today we’re going to see the big space ship in the sky! Well, it’s not really a spaceship, but it looks like one! I even get to go up inside of it!

I GOTTA GO!

Journal Entry

Sunday, March 23th

Dear journal,

Today is Easter and we went for a special picnic at the Dallas Arboretum with all of Gammy’s friends.

We played games and Gammy even read me a story in the flower garden.

The tulip garden reminds me of the tulip fields in Holland.

Gammy made all kinds of yummy food. My favorite was the chocolate strawberries!

This was a perfect Easter!

Love, Stanley
