I. Preface

About This Document This user manual provides you with information on how to configure and use the Flat Rate per

Product extension for Magento stores.

II. Flat Rate per Product

Flat Rate Shipping per Product is a free extension which adds a new shipping

method to your Magento store. It is useful for store owners who require a simple shipping

method or wish to set different shipping costs for certain products available in their stores.

Core Features:

Add a new shipping method in the checkout process

Allow to assign flat shipping rates for each product in the product listing

Ability to set default shipping cost

Apart from unique prices for specific products, the rest items will be shipped at the given default

rate.

Admin can set a default flat rate and different rate for each product.

If there are 2 or more products in cart, the shipping rate equals to total shipping rate of each

product.


III. Configuration setting

Because of a shipping method, you need to do initial setup for this new extension. Login

your magento admin panel and go to System > Configuration > Sales > Shipping Methods

after the installation is successfully conducted.

You will see the setting block with the information as following:

1. General Setting

What you need to do now is to complete the left blanks:

Enable: Click “Enable” if you want to run this new shipping method for your Magento

store and “Disable” for the other case.

Method name: This name will be shown in the checkout page.

Title: You can insert the title for the shipping method you apply in the checkout page.

Price: This price will be displayed under the shipping method.

Display Error Message: You are allowed to edit the message which appears in the case

of any display error.

Ship to Applicable countries: There are two options for you to choose: Ship to all

countries or only Ship to one or some specific countries.

Ship to Specific Countries: Tick on the countries you wish the flat rate shipping


available.

After filling all required information, remember to click on Save Config button to save this

setting.

2. Product-by-product setting

The most significant feature of Flat Rate per Product extension lies in allowing you to specify the

fixed rate shipping for each product. In this case, you must log in to the backend > Catalog >

Manage Products.

Then you can choose the product you want to apply the flat rate shipping cost and make the

setting in the section of Product Information.

3. Checkout page

As long as the configuration is conducted successfully, you will see the flat rate shipping per

product available in the checkout page.
