February 2016 – Hicks Airfield The Ground Hog did not see his shadow and we can only hope that tradition rings true and we have an early spring. Starting a new year at Hicks Airfield and as always the to-do list is probably more than we can accomplish in a short 12 months. As we wake up from the winter there seems to be a few CCR violations stating to pop up……….please check and make sure that you are not one of the violators. Our man-agement company is monitoring and writing violations…and the worst excuse is “I didn’t know that was a violation”. We could all do a better job at self -monitoring to avoid the process. Recent ACC projects again have been started this year without plans or approvals and at times ends up impacting surrounding property owners. This could lead to deed ex-ceptions that possibly would be difficult or costly to remedy when a sale occurs. Just a reminder that we need to make sure to observe the “30-foot from yellow center-line” on taxiways. Compliance is important to allow aircraft to move unobstructed on the taxiway. Recent changes in monitoring parking compliance have helped tremen-dously with taxiway obstructions near the café area. PLEASE try and NOT drive on unpaved surfaces…. especially the safety zone between the runway and taxiway. Next board meeting is February11th at HANGAR 111 at 7:00 PM. And…….as always – this is your Airfield your attendance and voice needs to be heard.

HICKS AIRFIELD PILOTS ASSOCIATION
Minutes for Board Meeting– January 14, 2016
With a quorum being established a regular meeting of Hicks Airfield Pilots Assn was held at 111 Aviator Drive on Thursday, January 14th. The meeting was called to order at 7:13pm by HAPA President Tom Martin. All board members present except for Reb Stimson. PMG Tracy Eubank was present. Eleven HAPA members were in attendance. There were no minutes available from the December 2015 General Election.
New board members Bob Samson and Jay Pratt were welcomed to the board.
Tom Martin reported that violation notices have been sent out by PMG. He also noted that several projects are in progress without approval from the Architectural Control Committee, required by our association CC&Rs.
Unfinished Business:
Discussion concerning the south end drainage concerns. No action taken. Member is working on a proposal to the board concerning funding of the project.
New Business:
The board discussed changing the general election quorum requirements from 51% to 41% for future elections. Motion was made by Gene DeBullet, 2nd by Rusty Morris. Motion passed. PMG will file required documentation with the state.
Next BOD meeting will be February 11, 2016, at 111 Aviator Drive.
Meeting adjourned at 7:37pm.

February 11, 2016 HAPA Board Meeting: The HAPA Board of Directors will hold their February 2016 meeting at 7pm at hangar 111. All members are welcome to attend! If you have anything you would like to discuss with the BOD, Please email HAPA President Tom Martin to be put on the agenda. February 17, 2016 EAA Chapter 670 Meeting: The February 2016 meeting of EAA 670 will be held at the Beacon Café beginning at 7pm. Come early for dinner and hangar chat starting at 6pm. Guests welcome! February 20, 2016 HHMA Monthly Breakfast: The December breakfast for the Hicks Hot Mamas Assn will be held at the Beacon Café at 8:30am. Invite your neighbors! NO men and NO politics!!
