specifications

the arc is manufactured to the very highest standards here in kent. the fully welded construction uses a combination of 2, 3 and 5mm steel plate. we then reinforce inside the burning chamber with additional layers of 5mm steel. we offer the original purchaser a lifetime guarantee on the main body of the fire and will repair or replace as appropriate. accessories are guaranteed for one year. multi-fuel grids, firebricks, trays and firebars are considered consumables, their lifetime being use dependant.

* all arc models have a flue outlet spigot of approx. 208mm internal diameter.the minimum chimney diameter to comply with current regulations is 200mm.

• the heat output figure for our no. 3 firebox was verified by an independent laboratory, based on a 2 hour refuelling cycle using wood. the output figures for the arc, quoted above, are obtained by extrapolation.

everyone loves the sight and sound of a real open fire - but this one’s different because it’s efficient! the arc open convector - it’s rather like a woodstove without doors.

most open fires are frighteningly inefficient, but not the arc. it’s certainly twice, and more likely 3 to 4 times more efficient than the average fire because of its box-within-a-box design. convection channels within the firebox boost the amount of heat which is extracted from your precious fuel and then gently spreads that heat more evenly throughout your room.

available in three sizes, the arc is supplied ready to burn logs straight out of the box with no extras required. a multi-fuel grate and gas conversion kit are available for coal and gas use, as well as a lock-on sparkguard. a choice of matt black or brushed stainless firebars can be speci-fied at the time of ordering. the arc has a satin black powder coated finish so the occasional wipe with a damp cloth is all that’s required to keep it looking smart.

so open convector fire or closed woodstove? as stated, our open convectors are much more efficient than ordinary open fires - with a closed woodstove being even more efficient, if used correctly with the doors shut. but if an unimpeded view of an efficient blazing open fire is the look you would really like to achieve, maybe that compromise on efficiency is worthwhile?
