Gaura& Marathe, alumnus of :5RI >amshed!ur, Faculty at IIM Ranchi, also chaired the

e&ent as guest 7ury mem$er#

%he teams !resented their ideas to the 7ury encom!assing &arious genres, ranging from

cost effecti&e recycling methods to sustaina$le ideas of sa&ing energy# %he + teams

faced stiff com!etition from each other as the winning team would ha&e their &enture

idea funded#

%he winning team was from ‘I)M -une’# %he team !resented the idea of ‘Cost effecti&e

motori1ed wheelchair’ which was highly a!!reciated $y the !anel of 7udges# %hey also

recei&ed suggestions on how to im!ro&e their !lan to ma;imi1e the $enefits from it# %he

runners u! were Callamino from IIM Ranchi whose conce!t was on call medicines

deli&ery followed $y IM -une e*waste recycling#

)I?IM in association with %O-IM @%A%A interacti&e ystem and /nowledge -artner 

CNe;t was successfully organised $y O!erations Clu$ of IIM Ranchi at their 

management festi&al Agon#

 After initial online round of $usiness strategy ma"ing fi&e teams ualified for the second

real simulation round# Round 2 saw a tough $attle among the teams# %he round was

di&ided into four !arts# 0ach !art re!resenting one year of $usiness# After e&ery !art

analysis was done a$out the health of the $usiness# %his also hel!ed the teams to "ee!an eye on other com!etitors and their strategy# )rainstorming at its $est was at dis!lay#

<ell the e&ent ended with the team from IMI .elhi winning the com!etition after a nec"

to nec" challenge $y the team from IIM RANC9I, who secured the runner’s u! !osition#

It was o&erall ama1ing for the !artici!ants to ha&e hands on e;!erience in sol&ing real

$usiness !ro$lem#

%he most antici!ated $rain rec"oning finance e&ent -56%6’43 has started $y the

earnest welcome $y Amaresh /rishna, the Finance Clu$ Coordinator of IIM Ranchi# %he

huddles of the students assem$led at the !rodigious e&ent which !ro&ides a stand to

show their )usiness 8aluation Analysis of a com!any# %he sturdiest challenge in any

organi1ation is to im!ro&e its !erformance $y ta"ing $etter decisions $ased on the

analysis of how the com!any has $een !erforming# %he contest was to come u! with a

$etter )usiness 8aluation of a com!any where the students from IIM /ho1i"ode, IIM

Ranchi, :IM), >)IM and Great 5a"es Institute of Management ha&e !artici!ated#

%he first round of today’s e&ent -56%6’43 was a case study which tests the )usiness

students, %eam AGM & Co from IIM Ranchi and Team Number Crunchers from

Great Laes Institute of Mana!ement were awarded the first position withTeam

Seein! Alpha from "#IMS standing in the third !osition#

com!anies in India

Many teams, each consisting of 2*E mem$ers, from to! )* schools li"e IIM*/, IIM* C, etc#

!artici!ated# Out of '(*( entries, teams were selected finally after the first round* 2

teams from IIM Ranchi, one each from CM9R. -une and NMIM )angalore#

%he e&ent was s!onsored $y Medha er&o .ri&es -&t# 5td# and the cash !ri1e was

worth Rs# 3((((# In the final round the team were reuired to gi&e a li&e case study

!resentation regarding the ma7or challenges faced $y Medha er&o and the entry

strategy for Medha er&o with res!ect to industry @manufacturing and su!!lying

eui!ments mar"et#

<ith eually talented and creati&e teams com!eting for the tag, it was really difficult for

the 7ury com!rising of Mr# 5alit Goel, GM, Mar"eting, Medha er&o .ri&es -&t# 5td# and

-rofessor Rohit, to come to a decision#

)ut finally the results came# %he winner was team /ia from IIM Ranchi, first runner u!

was team Gu!ta*G from IIM Ranchi and the second runner u! was Illuminati from

NMIM )angalore#

%he 7udges, Mr# Nagesh >ha, .y GM, 90C Ranchi, and -rof %anushree .utta,

Chair!erson, -G.9RM, IIMR, had a tough time choosing the winners, $ut the e&ent

ended with aha7 and Aditya )ansal of IIMR ta"ing home the first !ri1e of Rs# 42(((,

with Madhushree Ayala and -iyush >ain winning Rs# (((# And a uic" shoutout to our 

s!ecial guest for the e&ening, -rasoon, a third standard student from .-, Ranchi who

attended and !artici!ated in the entire de$ate#

management festi&al Agon# 8orstand 2#(# , the flagshi! e&ent of IIM Ranchi 9R Clu$

!ro&ided a !latform for management students to arri&e at inno&ati&e solutions to critical

!ro$lems faced $y organisations today through case study analysis $y simulating the

$oard room meetings# Organi1ations today are eagerly waiting for !olished managers to

arri&e and storm their $oard rooms with inno&ati&e ideas and their intellectual insights#

%his is the thought $ehind 8orstand* a !lace where management students enter the

cor!orate world with real industry !ro$lem in hand and their challenge is to con&ince the

)oard of .irectors#

%he first round included a case study with a $usiness case from the field of 9uman

Resources to test the $usiness acumen, domain "nowledge, analytical and !resentation

s"ills of the !artici!ants# Fi&e team were shortlisted after an intensi&e Round 4# %he

shortlisted teams were )lit1"rieg from :IM), Illuminati from NMIM )angalore, :5ers

from :5RI, Aegis and College Goers from IIM Ranchi# In Round 2 the shortlisted team

were !ro&ided with li&e $usiness case study from un -harma $ased on retention

strategy and career de&elo!ment !rogramme which they had to !resent in front of

esteemed 7udges* Mr Ra7ee& Gu!ta, .GM Cor!orate Relations and Mr# )#M# .algade,

enior Manager from >< teel 5td# Ms# Nagar7una .hema was our cor!orate guest

from un -harma# After much contem!lation the two teams who made it to the finals

were Aegis from IIM Ranchi and Illuminati from NMIM )angalore#

)efore the final round, a !ro$lem statement was gi&en with res!ect to the li&e case study

which was discussed in a simulated $oardroom# 0ach team included two Consultants

and one Com!ensation and )enefit Manager and the 7udges were the )oard of 

.irectors# After much contem!lation and $rainstorming sessions *Illuminati( $y NMIM

)angalore was declared as the winners and *Ae!is(from IIM Ranchi were the Runners
