    QUESTION 1

    Diagram shows a simple pendulum which consists of a bob of mass 40.0 g at the end of a light inelastic string of length20.0cm. The pendulum makes 20 complete oscillations in 5.0 s.

    (a) By using the letters A,B and C in the diagram above state the [2 marks]

    (b) What is the frequency of the oscillations of the pendulum ? [1 marks]

    (d) What happens to the frequency of the oscillations of the pendulum when the length of thependulum is 80.0 cm ? [2 marks]

    Diagram 2.1 shows the initial reading of a stopwatch at the beginning of an experiment. The stopwatch was used tomeasure the time for 20 complete oscillations made by a simple pendulum of length, l. Diagram 2.2 shows the readingof the stopwatch at the end of the experiment.

    Table 1 shows the four characteristics of harbour models, S, T, U, and V and a depth of water location that can beused to build a suitable and safety harbour.

    You are required to determine the most suitable and safety model of harbour. Study the specifications of all the fourharbour models based on the following aspects.

    - The location of the wall barrier- Water depth- Gap between the wall barriers- Size of the wall barriers base

    Explain the suitability of the aspects. Justify your choice . [10 Marks]
