FIXstation is a modern and innovative solution to ensure high productivity and fast delivery for one or two panel repairs. This workstation allows to a multi skill technician to perform four repairs per day with-out moving car - an average of one complete repair every two hours - guaranteeing key to key delivery time in less than half a day. FIXstation is a fully equipped station where technician may disassemble any parts from the car; repair the panel also using the spotter, including body filler, primer, waterborne and clear.FIXstation is equipped with a Flydry, it dry a panel with: body filler, primer, waterborne and clear in less than two minutes. FIXstation is a closed booth allowing technician to work easily and without any hindrances. The front part of the booth is equipped with a service column featuring power sockets, vacuum dust and sanding, power cord and compressed air retractable. The front side also features a paint mixing room with an independent extraction and lighting system for the technician to have everything need.

Today, in Body Shop one panel repairs represent 25-35% of the total jobs, FIXstation is the new solution to make this repairs competitive in terms of costs and key to key times.

The FIXstation may be installed in any car body shops, from traditional facilities to those who intend to completely upset the way the process takes place.Equipped with a Flydry robot, it allows a technician to perform four complete repairs per day without moving the vehicle.

In compliance with the rules on spraying systems, the front entrance is closed with an air blade iso-lating the inside from the outside and preventing any overspray from going out of the booth.

The safety doors are 3, made with a corrosion-proof finished perimeter steel frame, while the shutter is made of tempered glass. In the FIXsta-tion, the doors are located as follows: a first safety door is located on one of the 7-meter long sides of the booth. A second door allows the passage be-tween the booth and the Paint Mixing Room at the front. A third safety door is the exit of Paint Mixing Room in opposite side of the booth.

The total base surface is a grid suitable to support the weight of a vehicle; it features a double level to offset the air flow when the filters are dirty, al-ways ensuring a consistent air speed.

The floor grid is supported by 8 omega-shaped beams arranged longitudinally to the base and 64 independent support props, with an overall weight capacity of 600Kg where the vehicle rests on the surface.

The base is installed above floor level.The side floor are raised to reach the unique floor level.The raised base is also equipped with a double lev-el extraction as described in the inside basement.

The computer board manages the inverter, the fan motor, the air pressure sensors, the compressed air flow sensors, the operation cycle programmes, the user interface keyboard and all safety devices.

The “Powerlux-IN3” lamp is the result of a long re-search and design process by Symach. This brand new lamp, as compared with traditional booth lights, has remarkably higher lighting perfor-mance. As we designed this brand new, exclusive lamp, we wanted Powerlux to focus the light beam on the vertical part of the vehicle with 1000 Lux, while flooding the sides of the vehicle with 1700 Lux, thus making the most of the lighting potential and provide the optimal conditions for paint coat-ing. As regards power consumption, feeding the entire lighting system takes 25% less power than traditional booth lighting systems.FIXstation is equipped with 12 Powerlux-IN3 ATEX-certified lamps.

Flydry is perfect solution for fast repairs small and medium size damage. It dries a painted panel in less than 2 minutes. It dries every kind of paint like: body filler, primer, waterborne and clear with-out any possible defects. Using the Flydry with the process SPAP, repair times are a quarter compared to a conventional system. The Flydry column swiv-els through 360° to dry all sides of the vehicle. The lamp arm rotates through 180° to cover the entire vehicle profile in the vertical or horizontal direc-tion. Movements during the drying process areas are performed automatically.

The electrical panel is located at the bottom-front of the Power Turbo assembly and on the right or left side of the FIXstation. The fan is equipped with a long-life compact inverter.

The window filter frame is tilting and is convenient and quick to open for replacing the filters.

The Paint Mixing Room is located in the central-front part of the FIXstation. It features 2 glass doors, one safety door facing the outside of the system and another one separating the inside of the booth. The latter also features a large glass panel separating the booth side.

The user keyboard and display are on the electri-cal panel of the FIXstation. From the keyboard, the operator selects the automatic operation programme daily. Therefore the operator is not required to interact with the FIXstation at every coating and drying session.

Thanks to the FIXstation software, once the daily programme has been chosen for the booth, the painter does not have to work the switches to turn on or off the ventilation during the day or among painting sessions. Indeed, the software automatically tells what the operator is doing in a given time and automatically activates the most suitable programme.

FIXstation is a system designed for fast-repair, when the spray gun and Flydry are in operation automatically start the fans and the air Blade on entrance door, to allow system insulation and removal of overspray and any potentially hazardous and dangerous vapours formed during the drying process.

The flow switch controls the painter operation, in order to automatically change the programme when necessary.

FIXstation features three different programmes with different air speed levels depending on the processing phase:One for various processes taking place in the booth, such as: disassembly, assembly, panel beating, sanding, masking, etc.One for paint coatingOne for paint drying, in order to remove any solvents released when using the Flydry.For each activity, the FIXstation software automatically activates and changes the programme without the operator having to interact in any way.

This programme is used when the operator is performing general processes. It allows FIXstation to operate without ventilation.

This is the programme used for painting by spraying. With it, FIXstation operates with ventilation at top speed.

During the Flydry drying phase, FIXstation operates with a ventilation power of 40% in order to fully remove the solvent gases given off by the paint.

The software manages the fans with the inverter in order to allow each programme to adjust the ventilation rate.

The software manages every alarm device by constantly monitoring the efficiency. Moreover, it notifies, with a light and an acoustic alarm, the occurrence of any faults or anomalies. The software runs a constant monitoring to detect any clogging in the filters and reports, when turning the system on, the need to replace them.

The outer back wall of FIXstation is made with ABS “Covertop” moulded panels secured to the structure with suit-able plastic clips; moreover, they may be opened and closed if so required, for instance to install the electrical or pneumatic systems.Covertop panels are available in 6 different colours that can be combined at will. In the outer design of the FIXsta-tion Symach also wanted to have an innovative touch and change the rules of traditional booths. As such, it offers customers a customisable product that stands out for its essential lines, as well as for its functional, convenient, easy to install and replace features.
